UPDATED:

Wednesday 15th January 2020

West Ham have now signed a goalkeeper and Never ever offered anything for NEIL ETHERIDGE.

Neil Etheridge's transfer situation now looks a little clearer, amid links with West Ham United in this window.

After days of speculation, the Hammers have now completed a move for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Darren Randolph, which could now spell the end of any potential interest in the keeper.

Just City pushing players out if they can get transfer monies in and helped by the media.

West Ham have not yet officially tabled a bid for NEIL ETHERIDGE / SO CARDIFF HAVE NOT TURNED ANY BID DOWN.

It’s Etheridge’s agent & City who have been touting him out and yes West Ham are looking and considering a bid , but so far have not offered anything.

Plus as usual media speculation.

Neil Harris has been told like Russell Slade reduce the wages and bring money in which he has already been doing and some of the money will be made available.

Cardiff in October received £100mill from Prem & £60mill from Sky’s first payment, more to come over the next few years.

Cardiff also receive £110,000 for every home live game on tv & about £20,000 for every away live game on tv.

I honestly believe if West Ham offered £5mill in a straight deal City would take it.

Neil Etheridge will not be involved in Cardiff City's FA Cup third-round replay with Carlisle on Wednesday night as speculation regarding a move to West Ham continues.

My worry is that we will only be left with one quality goalkeeper Smitthies, as Day is not good enough for League 1.

Also if Cardiff don’t reach the play offs this season and Harris stays , I can see crowds lower than 16,000 next season.

He's not been great this season.

Personally I didn't believe a word of the rumours saying we'd turned down £5m. That would never happen. It was different last year, because we were in the Premier League then.

I honestly wouldn't mind if he left. Alex Smithies is a decent goalkeeper at this level.

Joe Day is untested at this level for a back up, but we could always bring in someone else on a short term contract on lower wages for cover - that sort of thing happens a lot.

I would let him go for £3m, let alone what the papers have been saying.

Bring in several decent players on loan for 4m

Would Harris be able to identify such players?

And would they come here?

Good question not sure if we are going to find out though! Trouble is only rejects are available at this level and looking at reaction to the rumours it's not what fans want on here? So may have to wait to summer when market as got better quality available..

Neil Etheridge's transfer situation looks as though it become a lot clearer within the next 24 hours amid links to West Ham during this January transfer window.

Reports emerged on social media on Tuesday night saying Middlesbrough man Darren Randolph - thought to be the Hammers' first-choice 'keeper - is having another part of his medical with the Premier League club and will undergo a further scan.

Should a move for Randolph collapse, it is thought Etheridge is the next man on their list.

it makes perfect sense for etheridge to leave if a bid is made. smithies is a solid keeper and a good distributor of the ball. etheridge would be a bad signing for West ham with the players they have as he is keeper with very poor distribution. he looked good for us last year because his distribution was as bad as the rest of the team and his shot stopping was excellent. could see West ham fans giving him a hard time if he kicked as bad for them as he does for us. it will hopefully help us keep the ball better rather than lumping forward every time we regain possession from the back.

NO OFFER WAS EVER MADE TO CARDIFF CITY.

Cardiff received (as did every other premier league team) £79.4m from the leagues deal with the broadcasters.
In addition we received £14.6m from our 12 televised matches and prize money of £5.7m from finishing 18th.

ie £99.6m in total.

No way do we get £64M there is only £590 million between the 72 clubs assuming all championship got that £64M that alone comes to around £1280m try again!
