But would Murphy do the same next game?

Personally thought the last 15 mins was made for Ward and haven't a clue why he had Jazz ready to go on but then didn't !! Hope to God he hasn't pulled something warming up

Tactics is the style of play, clearly keeping a clean sheet and scoring are an obvious for both teams

We have ourselves a tactician ladies and gents. That is what each team wants... the tactics is what the manager puts in place to achieve that goal I.e style of play, formation, who drops back, height of the press could go on.

I think Harris did have a plan yesterday but obviously it couldn't be implemented because the grass was too long. It must be true , that football managing legend Steve Cooper said so!

Finally, someone who knows what tactics are

Out of interest, what do you think the Jacks’ ‘tactics’ were?

To keep possession, keep the ball moving and keep the ball on the floor

I’d say that’s most teams try that mate and we are also trying that - don’t laugh just yet - but because of the players we have and the style of play adopted over last year or so, it’s a case of mixing it a bit with a more direct style where we have to give up possession because of this.
We definitely look to move the ball around much more though some players (particularly Pack imho) are having a bit of difficulty with this.
Good to see full backs supporting our wings - particularly on the left - and contrary to some views, I think Glatzel and Tomlin are starting to gel.
Just need a couple of quality players who can pass and move with a bit more urgency.
I’m no expert mate but that’s a few observations of mine. How do they compare to yours mate?

No offence mate but we don’t try to keep possession,we just lump it most of the time, did you see the jacks full backs in side their box for goal kicks?,what do cardiff do?,so this was my question from the start, what were the tactics,I see that our possession stats were above the norm for this game though

Under NW we lumped it forward whatever. When the opportunity is there imho we do try to knock it about a bit (nowhere near as much as the Jacks or many other sides but more than under NW).
There’s no way that we can change the whole style of play in a flash. It has to be done gradually. As you say, I believe we had 50% of possession so we must have been at least trying to keep the ball a bit. Mate I do agree that we lump it particularly from goal kicks which is infuriating (though Smithies did throw out twice - something NE never does).
Is NH my preferred choice of manager? No, but he possibly suits purpose and agenda atm.
Good discussion though mate, it’s what the forum should be all about.

keep it tight at the back, limit them to limited chances, use overlaping full backs to get into good crossing position, play on the front foot to stop them from playing which worked very well first half. Then bring on the substitutions to win the game inch lower some people be saying perfect tactics from harris. It's really not that hard to understand...

No idea why Patterson was put on, Danny ward has been our best striker especially with the lack of recent game time he's had, also no complaints with peltier but I do think Richards would have done a better job especially with overlapping

Let's not forget how the game at Swansea went when we got completely out played and whilst the score was 1 nil we were hammerred. That wasn't the case on Sunday. Full backs do get forward more particularly Bennett and we no longer have Morrison launching long throws at every opportunity. Bennett actually threw the ball backwards a couple of times on Sunday and we switched play. Not saying it's great as it's slow especially when it goes through Pack but it is small progress on what we had before
