Sell The German........ tonight

Sun Jan 12, 2020 4:26 pm

Whoever sanctioned that signing wants a stick up his jacksie. I watched closely
again today, christ alive, is that really the best we can do? Ward should start all day long
that kid is not a championship player period. For a big bloke, not physical enough, makes
really bad desicions channel running, and didn't win a header for 25 minutes. Don't even
mention his first half chance incredibly poor.
Another shocking acquisition, send back across the pond soon as you like.
We also desperatley need some craft and guile midfield, and can the manager
remind players to pass....AND move!

What are you taking!!! You surely must be a jack with that post. Unbelievable. He scuffed one chance wide

Ridiculous post. Glatzel played well and you say he ain’t physical enough, he more than held his own against the Jack CB’s, who tried to bully him.
Also Jason Perry really praised his performance after the game and believes Glatzel is a lot better than Kieffer Moore, who would be a pointless signing.

Ward must start? He probably will against Carlisle on Wednesday, but is always hopeless when he does start but decent when he comes on as a sub. He'll probably be released at the end of the season. Glatzel was Ok yesterday, but if we did sell him this month I wouldn't be too disappointed but I don't trust the club to get a replacement who would be better than him.

OP is correct I’m afraid he was useless never looked threatening

Glatzel is awful
Nowhere near a championship striker
Hes great at controlling the ball but has no idea what to do when he has it. His heading is poor, his shooting is even worse and he doesnt get in goalscoring positions.

Very poor signing

Struggling to adjust to the physicality of the championship. We could do with morphing him and Paterson.

I thought Glatzel had his best game.

He’s clearly been working on body position because he won at least 5 free kicks in the opposition half from straightforward balls into him. He also made it difficult for the centre backs and continually challenged back.

He’s not the finished article but he’s certainly improving and I was pretty impressed.

Ward is a good finisher but in every game he’s started he simply doesn’t offer anything in terms of holding the ball up or running in behind. He isn’t the answer.

The Jack CB's are not long out of school!

It's his first season, hes adapting to The Championship and life in a new country. Not to mention playing in a team that doesn't create many chances. I think hes doing alright and I think when he gets to grips with the physicality will be a good striker for us, I hope the club has the patience to stick with him.

the struggling with physicality keeps being used an as excuse but those two CBs were young and inexperienced { 20 odd games combined }

Maybe not be then what service did he get to run or be amongst them? He had one opportunity to do this and unfortunately he panicked and fluffed his lines ! As been said million times we have not provided any decent service to any of our strikers so until we address that problem the problem will persist for glatzel ward or whoever is the striker

Think Glatziel is starting to improve and to be fair , we don’t exactly create loads of chances in every game.
Ward is better off the bench ...we need to sign a Defoe type of player to play offGlatzel

I have to say to say I disagree. The style we play just doesn't suit him. He clearly isn't a target man and has shown real composure and quality when the ball is played on the floor to his feet. His link up play, with Tomlin especially, is superb.

I don't understand why we keep lumping it up to him, its not his strength and it doesn't benefit us.

Given some time, a change in our playing style in addition to a boost in confidence, I think he will prove to be a very solid player.
