Our midfield is the problem

Our midfield is full of old fashioned work horses but there is a distinct lack of quality on the ball. Not one of our midfielders can put their foot on the ball and pick out a killer pass, untill we sort this out we won't see the best of Glatzel.

We need to forget signing a striker and bring in one or two midfielders and a left back.

Glatzel has a brilliant strikers chance and fluffed it massively and was useless

We have missed ralls, and a playmaker is desperatly needed, but if we believe that we don' t have the money to temp the best midfielders then we remain having to look in bargain basement, and end up with players who are not upto it or ageing players to join our retirment home.

I agree that we need someone in midfield to drive the team forward. I think both Pack and Bacuna, are decent players, but their first option, always seems to be a sideways or backwards pass. Only Tomlin seems to have the ability to open the game up with one pass but even he can’t do it all of the time. I can’t think of a player who can do this from midfield but I’m not really knowledgeable about who may be available in our price range.

Getting Ralls back will improve things but we need someone a lot more mobile and nasty as it’s too powderpuff for my liking. As I have been saying for ages you can’t play Pack as part of a 2 man midfield.

Pack and Bacuna are too slow and lose possession...a couple of years ago Ralls was in and out of the side ..now we are missing him......shows how our midfield has gone backwards...although Ralls has improved...but again not a quick player.

Midfield needs beefing up and a Kavanagh type player

Ralls is not a good player. No pace, no skill and cannot control a game. Midfield is shot to pieces and is shocking.
It is our weakest area but it’s such a key area, Harris must address it. Ralls is ok in a midfield 3 with decent players around him. Otherwise he no better than average.
