His trouble is he holds things together very well but his distribution is far to slow, improve that part game and we'll see an improvement when we attack as ball go forward quicker.

I think he would be a better centre back than midfielder
Hes playing in the wrong position

I would give Pack a solid 7 today. He has his limitations, he's obviously slow and not the most mobile and today, he gave away a few silly fouls and got caught on the ball a couple of times, but he didn't hide, battled away and used the ball well overall and got us playing.
I'm bemused with the number of people saying the second half was an improvement as first half, I thought we played some lovely football with Pack and Bacuna controlling the midfield and Tomlin linked up well with Glatzel.

Could be as he reads game well gets lots possession but slow releasing ball..

I thought he was poor tbh. His passing is fine but his distribution is so slow and he got caught on the ball in dangerous areas. I don't think he works well in a midfield 2 and Bacuna spends a lot of time covering for him defensively because he's so slow. I'd prefer Ralls/ Bacuna when fit.

He’s one to get rid of in this window. Just not up to it sadly.

Still unsure why Warnock bought him. He was a manager and we are a club who cherish physical ability over skill. He is quite an imposing lad but jesus christ he is slow. In a roll it out from the keeper and target 60%+ possession he would be a real asset, but in a kick it long and pick up the second ball he is next to useless.
Another who is going to be difficult to shift.

Both Pack and Bacuna are too slow on the ball, they don't play the ball quickly. By the time they take 3 or 4 touches someone is on them, pressurising them. That makes them make mistakes. Bacuna has a bit more pace than Pack which is very slow, but he was OK today.

Thing is with Pack - he's a defensive midfielder and needs to have 2 advanced midfielders in front of him to lay it off to. Bacuna is too similar to him and Tomlin plays more of a shadow striker/Enganche so he struggles and runs out of options. i'd like to see him in the role:
CM CM
PACK
LB CB CB RB

Plays far too deep and is far too slow in moving the ball. He was almost an additional centre back at times today which along with Bacuna (who also plays too deep), means that we struggle to move the ball through midfield without hitting it long.
His passing can be good, but he needs to be about 10 yards further forward and have more players around him.

He is a tremendous passer and has a decent shot but he needs a pack of quicker midfielders around him as when he comes deep to get the ball he usually ends up passing it sideways to a full back or CB.

Needs a ralls type player around him

only player I would criticise today. his passing was poor and he constantly took too long on the ball. he spends too long on the ball slowing any momentum we have going forward and that's not much. having him and bacuna in centre mid mist mean we have the worst duo in the league

Roll on, the return of Joe Ralls. Easily the best midfielder at the club. We need a few more of his standard. Bristol fans suggested Marlon Pack was past his best when he came to us and I tend to agree. Too slow on the ball at times. Bacuna and Tomlin are decent players but only give quality to us in occasional glimpses.

...,and Ralls always runs around but rarely gives quality imho

2nd best pass completion on the pitch 85%. Behind whyte on 87%, who had less of the ball.
Overall a good performance. He does the ugly unnoticed jobs that others don't. He did twice give it away cheaply. But all in all solid

Holds the ball too long. Seemed nervous and makes shit decisions

Agree with bits of the positives been said but he seems too slow in controlling then passing. That extra second could completely change us as an attacking force.

He's too slow in possession and too slow not in possession. Plays way too deep and doesn't need to be side by side with CHs to take ball of them. His distribution is very safe but doesn't hurt opposition at all. Not able to beat his opponent and go past anyone to help break any lines. On the two occasions today he took on a positive forward pass he massively over hit the ball. He is a shadow of Gunnar and we need better of we aspire to push for play offs any time soon.

Agreed with all that apart from your last sentence.
