Makes it so hard for us with him in the side
Sun Jan 12, 2020 12:49 pm
Completely disagree mate he’s working hard and battling. Just needs a break and seems a bit low on confidence
Sun Jan 12, 2020 12:50 pm
Pack and bacuna are making it harder. They are both crap. Harris must address centre midfield.
Sun Jan 12, 2020 12:57 pm
Working hard but doesn't know where the net is
Hoilett is non existent

Snatched at his chance but his link up play, with Tomlin especially, is very good. Looks good with the ball at his feet, he is clearly not a natural target man.
Looks short on confidence but I think hes done well. Certainly wouldn't go as far as calling him a donkey.
This game is screaming out for Patterson I think.

Hes just not good enough for a promotion chasing side . Hes just a average championship striker and to be honest his level is probably league 1
Sun Jan 12, 2020 2:15 pm
Hes not good enough to play up top on his own he has to come far too deep majority of time to get the ball I'd like to see him and ward play together but that will never happen

It's been a problem all season and doesnt look as if it will change ... Patterson is not the answer as he missed great chance when came on ! It's way we play that needs to change..

Thought he played well between both boxes, and linked well with players but he never looks like scoring. Mind you I thought we looked worse when Paterson came on who won nothing and spent more time falling to the ground than trying to compete for the ball.

He was on for a short time and managed to get a header on target
Glatzel didnt because he doesnt get in the right positions

I thought Glatzel had a good game for the first 60 minutes, linking up well with the wingers and Tomlin. We played some lovely football in the first half with Glatzel's link up play contributing. He nearly had a tap in first half but Tomlin's low cross was well cut out. I thought it was the right time to take him off though as I felt he was fading and was becoming less and less involved.

Glatzel was useless he just adds nothing
Sun Jan 12, 2020 3:44 pm
I am never on the edge of my seat with anticipation when the ball goes near him, he'll manage to mis control it or lay it off poorly. There is not one element of being a forward or striker I can point to and say he excels at.
He works hard, but so did Alex Revel and Eoin Doyle.
The only ray of light I have for him is this is only his first season in the championship which is a considerable step up from where he came. He may come back next season a lot tougher and stronger and be an asset, but for me we are carrying him at the moment.

Remember you calling rudi gestede a donkey
Your not very good at knowing what a donkey is are you
Niether gestede or glatzel are donkeys
Why are you hiding under a new name barry chuckles

Slow, poor positioning, wins nothing in the air.
Sun Jan 12, 2020 6:03 pm
I have never made a comments about Gestede nor was I a forum member when he was here. For the record Gestede was much better than Glatzel

By far our best striker. Don’t understand the hatred for him by so many on here.

Totally agree. Battled well today, won lots in air and linked well.

agree think confidence comes into mind with him, he's snatching at chances just needs to take that extra touch or just have a look up and compose himself.

I thought he was alright today - he has to operate as a loan striker with absolutely no movement around him and 90% of the time receives the ball with his back to goal.
You’re never going to see the best of any striker having to do that - he needs much more support both in terms of players around him, but also players moving to give him space. Until that happens it’s always going to be a battle where he simply has to feed off scraps and/or has to create something from nothing.
There was a point in the 2nd half where Tomlin shit over but looked to pass it across - Glatzel had taken the 2 centre backs away, but not a single player of ours moved into fill the space and finish off what would have been a sitter.

No one hates him , most just realise we've bought another dud and the only reason he is even playing is the fact we have nobody else. Even Madine got a start before him that says it all.

I thought he had a good game, really surprised he’s getting stick! He also took a bit of a battering from the Swansea CB’s and stood up to it well. He’s a far better striker than Keiffer Moore.

TBH he's not a championship player
He'd do well in div 1 but I wouldn't keep him

Paterson hit the bar with the header and should have scored imo, whilst Glatzel had a header saved and pushed out for a corner.
Fair play mate you see the game different to myself and it seems when you dont fancy a player then theres no credit, only criticism

That was my view of it he missed when should have scored ! Saying glatzel doesn't get in right position he did today several times but ball to him in air was no where as accurate as the Murphy cross for Patterson if glatzel had that kind cross he may well have had couple of goals? But that is typical of our play upto now our strikers living off poor balls..
Sun Jan 12, 2020 9:59 pm
Glatzel had one of his better games today but reality is he is not producing goals or assists.
Our goals seem to have dried up and likely sources seem to be reducing.
Not likely to come from Pack, Whyte and Bacuna which does mean we need a striker to deliver.
