Neil Etheridge to be dropped

I can see Etheridge being dropped very very soon

Certainly not been at his best since he came back from his injury and also gave an interview around that time suggesting he'd had a few mental health issues if I remember.

Smithies was dropped after letting in four at West Brom so Etheridge must be a little worried after letting in six at QPR, some of which he would have expected to do a little better with.

In fairness to both Etheridge and Smithies they've been let down badly on a number of occasions by our struggling back four.

Chris he didnt have that much to do in game but will say the goal bore similarities to several goals this season? So either our defence gives him the jitters or hes lost confidence in himself? And tbh something is not right his positioning as been suspect all season

Historically worse have u watched Etheridge this season hes been poor at best let in a lot of goals if that would have been smithies that whole time I cant imagine the grief he would have had

Completely 100% agree this season dont know what it's been but he looks a shadow of last season and previous in championship

No he was piss poor. Scuffing clearances, kicks straight into touch and let a pass back roll under his foot. He made the defence nervous.

Sven you don’t have to blossom over everything with positivity. read what others are saying and accept your opinion is the minority. Stop forcing your positivity on people. Etheridge was poor in the Derby his kicking put us on the back foot plenty of times in that game so NO that was his fault not his defence open your eyes

Exactly - and our best keeper at that. Why do people think he is the only one about which there is speculation of a bid coming in.

Y all mad hes been poor since hes come back In lack of confidence who knows his kicking is poor general distribution has been poor commanding area poor positioning poor please explain to me where hes been so outstanding this season

why dropping keepers won’t sort the defence out.

Harris said he was dropped due to something to do with transfer speculation. Hes off by the look of it.

I heard he was dropped for today and said on the match thread yesterday. I've heard from an excellent source he wants to leave but City want £10M for him.

If they insist on £10m for him I would guess he will be going nowhere. I would describe him as a decent enough keeper with quite a few weaknesses in his game. Certainly not irreplaceable, and if we could get £10m for him I would sell tomorrow if I owned the club.

Probably worth that at the end of the season but his value has dropped off this season for sure.

What I will say is that Smithies had a good game today and his kicking was a lot more assured
