What's your starting 11 tomorrow?

Sat Jan 11, 2020 12:56 pm

I'll go with.
Ethridge, Peltier, Bennett, Nelson, Bamba, Pack, Bacuna, Hoilet, Tomlin, Patterson and Ward.

You can’t play Pack in a two man midfield as he is not mobile enough.

Hard to pick the CB’s as all 4 have been poor. Would probably go with Mozza and Bamba though. Midfield would be

Whyte
Patterson
Bacuna
Hoilett

Tomlin
Glatzel

I've gone with Tomlin out wide Ward up front on his own, so when we don't have the ball it would be a 5 man midfield Pack, Bacuna and Patterson in the middle.

Smithies

Richard's
Bamba
Morrison
Bennett

Ralls
Bacuna
Pack

Tomlin

Murphy
Hoilett

Get Smithies back in goal
Get our best centre back pairing together again

Play 3 in midfield with Tomlin ahead of them as a playmaker free role

And play Hoilett and Murphy as a front 2 instead of our useless strikers

Glatzel running around a little bit and never looking threatening against the jacks???

Ward MUST start to give us a chance

Personally don’t see anything in Ward

Barry chuckle Ward is awful when he starts has little to no impact off the bench is a different story of course

Glatzel has just as little impact... can just see him being anonymous tomorrow like in most games

Smash mouth ugly but brutally effective. With Murphy as a very narrow wide man waiting for the ball to be played behind their back line and Tomlin just behind the battering ram of Paterson picking up the ball in the last third trying to find Murphy (who i don't think is a winger but a forward). Our three most mobile midfielders picking up second balls and winning battles in the middle.

Sp for me:

Etheridge

Jazz morrison nelson bennett

Bacuma Vaulks Ralls

Murphy Paterson Tomlin

I’m a bit unsure about starting Bamba after the past two games. I’d feel more confident starting Nelson. I wouldn’t be normally, as I love Bamba but I still think he’s got a while to go to get 100% fit.

We need fight and passion tomorrow
Bamba has that in abundance

I know that but has he got the fitness? Passion and fight is all fine and well but there's plenty of middle aged men in the stands who have plenty of fight and passion but can't get into their Sunday league teams
Normally I would pick Bamba without a shadow of a doubt. But conceding 6 against QPR and 2 goals (and a penalty) against Carlisle at home doesn't fill me with confidence.

I think the last 2 games has shown big Sol to be off the pace right now.

I’m not saying this makes his defensive record in those games “amazing” but he was subbed off at half time because we were losing and Harris didn’t want to keep playing 3 CB’s so he only conceded 3 out of the 6 goals against QPR (considering we conceded 3 after he was subbed off suggests you can’t fully blame him for the 3 goals when he was playing either). The penalty conceded wasn’t a penalty in my eyes against carlisle, and the second goal against Carlile was purely Coxe’s fault for letting his runner get ahead of him and then out jump him for the header back post. You’re being a bit harsh on Bamba, especially since the rest of his play was confident and solid, and even looked like he still has his pace to be fair when he had to cover back and see the ball out.
