Premier league side with 30k attendances

Fri Jan 10, 2020 8:35 pm

Last season. You would never think it now, we should be going for and attracting quality loans from the prem and quality players after gracing the premier league again last season with good attendances. Wheres the ambition?

I think you’ve answered your own question and “grace” is not a word I would use to describe last seasons brief appearance (have you noticed the common denominator yet )

We have invested. Problem is virtually every single investment decision involving any sort of serious money has worked out to be a bad one.

Yep it also doesn’t help that we love to spend millions on back up players or average old players. The whole way recruitment to the club and progression from the youth to the first team works needs to be sorted out. Whatever happens we need a bit of an overhaul in the summer. Particulary in the back 4 as we have to many old players at the back.

True we have invested but warnock has wasted so much money so i dont really blame the owner. I just hope by the end of january we have shown some ambition and got at least 3 quality signings in who will go straight in to the first 11 because thats what we need. The building needs to start now this window.

Exactly!

I don't want to hear of us recruiting "squad players" - I want us to be signing players who are better than what we've got and go straight into the starting eleven.

We are a capital city, we are an international city known throughout the world, we are a fabulous city to live in yet a slum 40 miles down the road attracts far better players than us why why why.

Probably the same reason Man Utd attracts better players than London based Crystal Palace. Who gives a toss if your club plays in a capital City?

“Shall I play for Celtic or Hibernian?”... “I’ll go with Hibernian because they play in a capital city” - said nobody ever.

So the proper answer is we play attractive football, football that good players enjoy and to be involved with, we have a young and exciting side and a manager that is refreshingly hungry for success and is well respected in football circles allowing us to attract players from top clubs.

A lot of youngsters now 19/20/21 year olds have pretty much always known us as one of the top sides in the country and saw us regularly playing lovely football, winning silverware, playing in Europe and beating the elite of the game with regularity.

In terms of the area, it’s ok. The City centre needs drastic investment but the coastline is fantastic.

Because when it comes to spending money on recruiting players it has become obvious that our whole club is f*cking terrible at it.

I’d say we have been the worst out of the top two divisions over the last few years.

More lightening striking twice if news of bidding for Keiffer Moore has any substance. I'm actually beginning to feel some pity toward Tan with how our managers treat his funding.
