Really? I thought they had been fantastic this year. Both had a really good Champions League with Ajax and unlucky to be dumped out by Spurs in the semis, I think both were nominated for Golden Boy at the Ballon D’Or and had such good seasons last year that they went from unheard of to earning big moves to Juventus and Barcelona and becoming establish starters. I would say VVD had a better season than De Ligt as he was immense but aside from VVD, I can’t think of anyone else who had a better season at the back. Maguire is overrated in my opinion and those three defenders are the only three whom stick out from 2019 for me. What do you think?

They had great first half of the year with Ajax no doubt but i don't think they've really gone on to do anything else. To be fair i haven't seen much of La Liga or Serie A but i heard that De Ligt struggled at Juventus to start with. Oh yeah can't argue with Maguire he's useless but from the Nominees of FIFA 20 TOTY i'd probably have Laporte as CB instead of De Ligt and Wiljnaldum as the CM for De Jong. Liverpool were the team of the year by a mile and i think he was vital to them doing so well
