West Ham have agreed a £4million move for Middlesbrough's Darren Randolph - all but ending their reported interest in Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge.
The Boro stopper, 32, is set to return to the London Stadium after a two-year stint on Teesside, according to the Guardian .
The Republic of Ireland international was keen for top-flight football after losing his first-team spot at the Riverside following an injury in November.
The Hammers identified Randolph after high-profile errors from back-up keeper Roberto, who has been deputising for the injured Lukasz Fabianski.
Cardiff man Etheridge was on West Ham's list of candidates to go for should a deal for Randolph not materialise. Football League World reported on Monday that the Premier League club were readying a £3.5million bid for the 29-year-old - a fee considerably less than what was touted for him in the summer.
The Philippines international is out of contract in South Wales next year and attracted interest from Aston Villa during the previous transfer window.
Etheridge's form has dipped at times this season but manager Neil Harris would have been loathe to lose the shot-stopper mid-season and now appears to set to remain in South Wales.

Honestly got nothing against Etheridge as at time’s he has been brilliant for us. However if we get an offer of anything over 2.5 million this month then it’s time for him to go. We are so well stocked in that area and we need the money

I feel the same,he got his place back on a poor performance from Smithies, and to me there is very little to choose between them, but wouldn't let him go for as little as that

I'd say between 4/5 mill would probably do it.

Know what you mean mate maybe a bit on the low side but I heard he’s out of contract In the summer (could be complete rubbish mind!) really don’t see the point in having smithies, Etheridge and day and Etheridge is probably the one we can get the most for

Sorry he is keeper only 29 I know he cant kick but the figures talking here I hope is a joke as we should get at least 8 million for him the prices of todays footballers especially a goalkeeper who proved he can play in the premiership so plenty of experience too.
I personally hope we keep him as City been here before got rid of good keeper and signed some usless keepers until Marshal came except we did have Casper Smichael for a month on loan
