MY THOUGHTS: PATERSON IS KEY BUT WHY NOT FAVOURED?

Sun Jan 05, 2020 2:35 pm

MY THOUGHTS:
Paterson Started The Comeback In The FA Cup Against Carlisle So Why On Earth Is He Never Starting For Us In League Games? He Is A Striker Last Season In The Premier League For Us So Play Him Ahead Of Glatzel, Then When Paterson Gets Tired Thats When You Bring On Glatzel.

I Personally Think There Have Been Various Of Opportunities For Callum Paterson To Start Games And Score A Bunch Of Goals But Sadly Never Given A Chance. Hopefully He Can Start Against Swansea.

Pats Is More Mobile Than Glatzel, And Have Got A Bit More Pace Than Glaztel. I Know It's Hard For Any Player Who Comes Into A Welsh Side From Germany Or Leagues Like That To Get Off As Well As He Has Done In Germany. But I Think He Can Make A More Of An Impact In The Game Coming Off The Bench.

But Thats My Opinion Whats Yours?
Should Paterson Start More Games Or Just Remain On The Bench?

He should be starting particulary now as unlike our other players he is always 100% committed. I wouldn’t say he should necessarily start ahead of Glatzel though.

Should definitely play v Swansea as he was MOTM by an absolute mile vs Carlisle his cross for the second goal was sensational.

Where would you play him out of interest? My issue with him playing RM is it makes us slower than we already are going forward.

If Patterson is a striker why have managers spent millions on several strikers when apparently an international right back is better?
Patterson offers only harassment to opposition and is not a striker of sufficient standard in championship? As to others being of standard well questionable I know..

I think his best position is up front but I also rate Glatzel so you could play them up top together.

Patterson is also a good option in CM though particular as our other options are not combative enough and we need more nastiness/bite in the Cm positions.

For the Jacks,Brum and Baggies i'd play him up front with Murphy and Tomlin either side of him but pretty narrow and free. Murphy for the flick on which will stop them pushing too high and Tomlin for the close stuff.

I'd have a midfielder of Ralls, Bacuna and Vaulks for second balls getting the ball forward as quick as possible

Its direct, but let's not kid ourselves this is what we are set up to do, this "group" can't excel at anything other than this. If we try to ""out Swansea" Swansea then we are dead.

No team have been relegated on 55 points, we must try to get there quickly then try a different style.

I do think Glatzel is the future and i wouldn't want Pats as a first team starter, but it is effective. We don't have enough for a serious play off bid
