Cardiff City manager Neil Harris says talks are 'moving swiftly' on tying Lee Tomlin down to a new deal

Friday 3rd January 2019

So far though Lee Tomlin had denied he had been offered a new contract and had not been offered a new one by Manager Harris.

Cardiff City boss Neil Harris remains optimistic of tying Lee Tomlin down to a new deal.

The playmaker has enjoyed a resurgence under Harris this season, and has now emerged as one of his key attacking players.

However, there is a growing anxiety around his current contract situation among fans, with Tomlin's deal set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Tomlin took to social media earlier this week to confirm he had not yet been offered a new contract.

Talks are ongoing, and it's understood that all parties are keen to reach an agreement.

Speaking ahead of his side's FA Cup clash with Carlisle, Harris said: "Discussions have been ongoing. There’s been some backwards and forwards.

"From my perspective I’ve got a very good relationship with Lee. He’s very happy here and I’m very happy with him.

"They’re the major things for me. The terms of the contract are down to his group and the club to tie down. I know there’s a willingness from all parties to get it done sooner rather than later. Talks are swiftly moving forward."

Good to hear,if they have a good working relationship tomlin,as he has been showing,is playing to his potential, his relationship with Warnock had soured too much, hence lack of game time under him. :old: :bluebird:

Tomlin was always going to be offered a new contract

Whether he accepts lower terms is another matter but I suspect he will.
