" Wayne Rooney / Derby County "

Thu Jan 02, 2020 6:45 pm

The live EFL match on Sky Sports tonight is Derby v Barnsley.

Wayne Rooney starts as captain for Derby to make his debut with them.

I'll be watching Liverpool v Sheffield United on BT, but it'll be interesting to find out how he does in this league.

Wayne Rooney is just another reason to hate Derby as if we need any more.

They are always trying to get round FFP rules - haven't they got some deal with a bookie who are paying part of his wages as he is meant to be a "coach" at the club.

I just heard an interview with him on talksport where he was asked if he were more player than coach and he said he was definitely more player but that he'd be giving his opinion on how the team sets and the way they play! Does that make him a coach?

Or is it yet more "creativity" by Derby and their obnoxious owner just like the sale and lease back of the stadium and the debacle of Snowgate and the refusal to sack the "valuable" pisshead drunk drivers who could have done who knows what damage when driving whilst completely off their tits.

Hopefully they will NEVER get promoted - horrible, horrible football club.

Yes bookies paying wages but as a coach he falls outside ffp rules when comes to wages but still a scam to avoid ffp.

Yet they always seem to get away with it.

They are doing nothing wrong or against any rules.

It's not Derbys fault they are playing within the rules albeit probably bending them slightly

Fair play to them for finding a way to afford a player like him

Good luck to Derby, can’t fault them and I admire their ingenuity.

Was a free kick perfect placement striker couldn't miss... but he was not happy bunny at chances he created and forwards missed badly. :old:

He said himself more player than coach but derby said hes coach 1st player 2nd ! Now who's right because being a coach means hes not subject to player wages so outside ffp rules! Not doing anything wrong but certainly deliberately avoiding ffp with their tactics, why do you think efl looking into ground selling by clubs including derby ?

Did you admire the way they avoided playing us when they had so many injuries and suspensions a couple of seasons ago?

We’d have done the same. Warnock wasn’t a saint.
I’m not a bitter person.
Good win for Derby and a big influence from Rooney :laughing6:
