True.
I’d be surprised if NH isn’t trying to get wheels in motion and possibly had early discussions with LT. It’s still quite early days to have an offer, even if they’re in discussions.

not really early as he can talk to other suitors in January..
maybe the club are waiting to see what else he gets offered first ?

You’re a mind reader. That’s exactly what I was thinking mate.
Not sure how the ‘one year extension option’ works but I sort of see club’s thinking here No interest = a drop in wages offered

Or keeping Tomlin hungry for the time being (excuse the pun)

Nope.

He’s had about 8 good games.

Pretty much in a row though Mac so a year extension isn’t much of a gamble imho; particularly if we ‘dangle the carrot of another possible extension based on appearances etc.

And where would we be without those games?

Agreed but there has to be a certain amount of loyalty from him too.

He’s taken a million a year off us last 2 and a half years.

You’ve got a good point mate but loyalty is not always a word that players and certainly agents are often familiar with.

Well that’s not really a carrot being dangled isit. He’s a good player a lot of clubs would take him straight away he’d just leave and go play somewhere else.

He’s 31. If we gave him another year with a possible year extension (and he apparently wants to stay) that would be something he would surely consider and I personally think that he’d struggle to get terms that we’re offering if he went elsewhere and I’d take with a pinch of salt the ‘Wales online understands’ quote that other championship clubs are watching developments.
