Cardiff City may loan out youngsters Cameron Coxe and Ciaron Brown.


The Championship want the defensive duo to get some first team experience, as per a report by Wales Online.

Neil Harris is planning a January clear-out of his newly inherited squad and a number of players are likely to leave the Cardiff City Stadium.

Coxe, who is 21 years-old, has made two appearances for the Bluebirds in the Carabao Cup this season but is finding it hard to gain senior opportunities.

He joined the Welsh side at the age of seven and rose up through their youth ranks. He was handed his first and only first-team appearance to date in a League Cup tie against Burton Albion in August 2017.

The Wales Under-21 international could be on the radar of League One or League Two clubs going into the upcoming January transfer window.


Another young defender Brown could follow Coxe out of the exit door. The 21-year-old has more experience under his belt than his colleague.

Brown, who is a Northern Ireland international with a single cap to his name, spent the second-half of last season on loan in the Scottish Premiership with Livingston.

The London-born defender started his career at non-league side Bedfont Sports before being snapped up by Wealdstone in 2016. He impressed in his two seasons in the National League South, playing 61 caps altogether, and earned a move to Cardiff in January 2018 after a successful trial.

yep he was out of contract could go to whoever offered him the best deal/chance and the best was in league one..
yes he has progressed but no other championship or premier league club thought him worth a go ...at the time..

Nane 4 academy players that went on to bigger clubs than Cardiff who never featured in our first team.

So just because Man City supposedly wanted to buy him but not one of our coaches has deemed him not good enough yet for the first team we should put him in the first team
I have watched him a few times and nothing has made me think that he is anything special At 21 if he was he would be in the first team

These two are not exactly kids are they? Warnock didn't think they were good enough for first team and Harris has given lots chances but neither of these two though Jazzs rebirth probably stopped one of them getting some action. Be interesting to see what Carlisle game brings selection wise.

we are not a youth club...decisions are made based on whats best for OUR first team at any given time...if that means someone missing out on a loan tough.. besides nobody knows how a loan spell will work out..

Why would we not have wanted him loaned to Rotherham last season? If he's not now playing championship he wasn't likely to feature in PL and we had Manga still with us.

We had injuries so he couldn’t go.

Same as Connolly, he was on the verge of being loaned out but didn’t happen because of injuries. The way it’s going for us at the moment injuries might prevent a few going out this season as well.
