The brilliant Cardiff City player ratings as striker and returning star shine vs Sheffield WednesdayBy Glen WilliamsHere is how the Bluebirds players rated after they earned a brilliant 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday at HillsboroughNeil Etheridge 7Did all that was asked of him. Saved well and gathered comfortably from crosses.
Jazz Richards 8Has been excellent since he came back and his versatility proved useful once again, swapping over to left back when Bennett went off.
Aden Flint 8One of his better outings. Made a crucial goal-line clearance and thwarted many opportunities from crosses. Even had a bicycle kick denied!
Curtis Nelson 6Unfortunately he was the man at fault for Wednesday's opener. Did OK apart from that, but that was far too sloppy.
Joe Bennett 6Was having a decent outing against tough opposition until his afternoon was curtailed early by a head collision.
Marlon Pack 8Another excellent outing from City's midfield maestro. While there was chaos around him he brought calmness. Range of passing was superb, too.
Leandro Bacuna 8A dynamo when he was in midfield. He is so important to how City tick. Also did a brilliant job when asked to play at right-back.
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing 6His afternoon was cut short by a hamstring injury. Had done alright until then.
Lee Tomlin 9Was instrumental in creating two goals. His quick-thinking and bullet-like passing were the difference.
Junior Hoilett 7Finished well for his goal. Is easily City's best wing option at the moment.
Robert Glatzel 9 (Star man)His best outing in a Cardiff shirt by far. Physical, confident and a handful for the opposition defence. Took his goal incredibly well.
SubsWill Vaulks (on for Bennett 35)
8This was a big test for him and he stood up well to it. Proved he can be called upon when needed. Neat passing and made some nice runs.
Sol Bamba (on for Mendez-Laing 42)
9Given the circumstances, it was nothing short of an incredible display from the Ivorian. Three crucial, goal-saving interventions late on.
Callum Paterson (on for Tomlin 83)
