Bamba and Jazz like new signings

And what about Bacuna right wing back?

Been saying three at the back for ages.

Jazz has been the best player in the last 3 games. And I personally thought Bamba would never get back to his best after the injury, but he was immense today. And you have to give credit to Harris for doing that change. As you said Bacuna at wing back was superb, his first thought is always to attack which we lack in most areas. He also dealt with Harris easily.

Totally correct.

Vaulks also looked the part too.

Bamba was amazing. Could see the calm he brought.

I hope they stick with 5-3-2.

Or more like 5-4-1 but the 4 allows Tomlin and Hoilett to support the front man which works really well.

Jazz has been class, composed on the ball and Bamba what a leader, so commanding back there

Let’s just hope he stays injury free.

I got shot down as well for saying Jazz would be a massive boost to squad if fit.

Ive also said he is the calming influence at the back, plus we should find him a role at the academy, his personal and professional attitude would be beneficial for the younger players, would have their respect no doubt, loved that salute he did also  proper leader :notworthy: :old: :bluebird:

At least 90% of fans wanted him back so you’re not the only one!

I’m a big fan and it was only a matter of time, fitness and opportunity before he was introduced.
A leader on and off the pitch.

The team that finished the game was far better than the team that started it (with the exception of Tomlin instead of Patterson) and certainly for away games looked far more solid than a flat back four.

Bamba was immense when he came on and Bacuna a revelation at wing back - Peltier is a decent defender but should never go over the halfway line whereas Bacuna was not only comfortable defending but was a threat going forward.

I only hope that Harris resists any urge to put Morrison back in the team when his ban ends on Wednesday.

Swap him for Flint in a back 3, far more mobile.

The way he lumbered over to take out the Leeds player for his stupid and potentially costly red card would tend to suggest otherwise.

Flint and Morrison are very similar as we know - slow, ponderous, cannot find a team mate with either a header or pass so you could choose either of them I suppose but my worry is that he'll pick both of them in a back three and drop Nelson.

I think Morrison is more suited to a back 3 but time will tell. Agree though I'd probably go with one and 2 more mobile players.

Nelson will drop to the bench first opportunity. He cost us a goal yesterday and although hes done brilliantly, he still needs to learn at this level as sometimes he looks lost with his positioning. That is something that will come by training with more experianced players like Morrison and Bamba.

If we play a back three I expect it will be Bamba, Morrison and Flint.
Or even maybe Bamba as a old style sweeper

To play Bamba, Morrison and Flint will be a disaster. None have real pace, and we will be taken apart. Reminds me when we played Morrison, Bamba and Manga against Watford and we let in 5. Nelson makes mistakes but his pace is vital, when playing with 2 slow players.

Two as a maximum, Ieven Peltier on the right of a three would be OK at least he has some mobility.

I agree with both those posts.

One thing we have surely learnt over the last couple of seasons is if you play with no pace at centre back you are in trouble. Half our problem in the Prem was that Warnock wouldn't/couldn't play Manga as centre back, as soon as it was forced on him we looked much more comfortable against pace.

This season Warnock insisted on playing Morrison and Flint and it was bordering on disastrous !!

Nelson is an absolute must at centre back at the moment for me and, based on recent performances, Bamba if fit. I actually think Morrison would be more comfortable alongside Nelson too it will be interesting to see who Harris prefers.

Bamba and Morrison is the best centre back pairing.

If you play nelson and bamba in a back three that will allow you to play Morrison or flint

Also makes us a huge threat at corners and free kicks with Bamba, Flint and either Morrison or Nelson. I really liked our 2nd half performance against Wednesday. Bacuna was outstanding attacking and defending. Thought we kept the ball well and saw the game out in a professional manner.

Agreed - as long as they are spread out.
Never understood why Morrison and Flint were so close together at corners.

One just in front of the keeper or at the penalty spot and one just beyond the back post.

They were putting each other off and making it easy for the opposition to crowd them out with their big lads.
