Composure from the defenders
By Glenn Williams

It starts from the back and many Bluebirds fans reckon Cardiff's defenders aren't capable of keeping possession of the ball even if Etheridge were to give it to them.
But surely that is a myth? There are lot more limited back fours in the league who do it successfully, so why can't Cardiff's with a little more belief?
Jazz Richards and Joe Bennett are footballing full-backs who are more than capable of receiving the ball from Etheridge and starting off moves, playing one-twos, getting the Bluebirds up the pitch whilst retaining possession.
Sol Bamba was likened to Franz Beckenbauer by Warnock for his willingness to play out from the back. Maybe he needs to return to the starting XI to bring that much-needed composure. Not a bad defender and leader either, is he?
Sean Morrison proved in the May win at Manchester United that, when encouraged to do so, he too can be adept at passing out from the back. Aden Flint, having cost £6m, can surely do it better than we have seen thus far?
I don't buy the theory Cardiff's defenders can't play. Every professional can. It's about a change of mind-set.
Keep the ball better, make the opposition chase after it, rather than give it away and have to chase it again yourself.
More zip to the passing
Passing the ball is one thing, the purpose of it is another.
Cardiff actually had 52 per cent of the possession against Millwall, a rarity indeed - positively dominant by their standards this season!
Yet so much of it was ponderous, static and square, perhaps a legacy of very slowly coming to terms with the way Harris wishes to change things.
It can't just happen overnight. But presumably Cardiff work on this in training and if practice doesn't make purpose, it can certainly help make it look less cumbersome than it does at times.
Pack playing further forward will help, given he will be closer to midfielder partners Leandro Bacuna and Lee Tomlin and more able to play triangles and work ways around the opposition.
It's fine floating the odd 50-yard diagonal ball out to the wing, but short, sharp and precise needs to be the nature of the day. With Pack and Tomlin, surely Cardiff can play that way?
The midfield, and defence, also need to see more movement from the front men than we witnessed against Millwall.

More journo shite.
Bamba was not compared to Beckenbauer. Warnock stated Bamba played needed to stop thinking he was FB as he wasn't. Morrison has proved time and time again he can't play out and Flint, despite price tag, is the worst of the lot. He gave the ball away three times in the first ten minutes against Millwall.
