2 or 3 transfer windows to turn this around.

Thu Dec 26, 2019 7:54 pm

After watching another awful game at the CCS today, I'm looking at the squad and thinking how many will be let go or sold in Jan?

I don't think Harris will be given any money to sign players next month, he will have to get rid of a lot of dead wood and clear some of the wages before he can bring in one or two loans or free transfers.
I think the board will wait until the summer when they have a far better idea of where the club is heading before they release any money for new players.

I think Smithies, Bogle, Murphy and Madine will be put up for sale, and the likes of Connolly, Traore, Vassel. B Murphy all let go.

I even think Will Vaulks could be let go next summer.

What ever happens in Jan I think its going to take 3 windows to sort out our squad.

At least.

We can debate the various strengths of individuals but we have a sqaud full of players who are not top end championship quality. We will be stuck with lots of them as they will be on good contacts. How much scope any manager will have to bring in players before moving some on who knows.

Lets be honest about this and say its of Warnocks making because it is.

Comes as no surprise to me that our squad can't play any other way other than Warnockball and they did that badly for 17 games this season. They are now not doing very well at Harrisball, whatever that is, but appears to make us quite difficult to beat but utterly unproductive and horrid to watch.

The biggest disappointment for me is how our two signings after being promoted who were bought for the future and to light up the Championship in Reid and Murphy are now for different reasons not helping our cause. Neither seem to be Warnock type players and it just seems to make no sense that we signed either of them.

Our squad is good it's our style of play, current mindset and manager that is the problem.

How can you say we dont have top end championship players

16 of them have played premier league football

9 of them are internationals

We have spent over £60million in transfers on the squad

Other teams would snap your hands off for a squad like ours it's a quality squad but needs the right person to lead it

Well Warnock tried. Harris is now.

Leeds, WBA, Brentford to start with wouldn't take any of our squad to go into their first choice 11, let alone pay for them.

We may have spent but we haven't got value. If Warnock thought we were strong enough to mount a challenge he would have fought to stay. He knows he's made mistakes and Harris has a really tough task ahead.
