Cardiff City manager Neil Harris: "I'm disappointed”

Thu Dec 26, 2019 6:11 pm

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris:

"I'm disappointed not to win. I was really pleased to get in front and have a really good 15-20 minutes at the start of the second half.

"We stood strong against the counter-attack - set-plays were the only real opportunity for them to score today. We defended the free-kicks and corners well.

"Ultimately what's cost us is Jed scoring a goal from 30 yards which is a top-quality strike.

"We are creating chances, 13 today and several on target, but are they clear-cut? Are we making them in open play? Do I want more from my wide players? Yeah I do. Do I expect more? Yes I do. That's the demand."

Eh? Several on target. That kind of in depth analysis priceless and pure inspirational

The game lasts 90 minutes not 15 or 20 minutes in the second half!

Since Harris has arrived we have not had one game where we've performed well for a full 90 minutes.

Thank goodness we had "several" attempts on target - that should stop the crowds dwindling over the next few months.

I don’t now what game he watched but we were clueless when we needed to change things he replaced a striker with a striker who was getting poor service!!, our midfield is a big problem Pack is a poor signing for me we needed a gunnerson but ended up with a poor mans peter Whittingham speaks volumes for the ambition of the club wen warnock left we had a chance to bring in a decent manager but went for the cheap option that will set us back for years

My beef with him is the subs he uses very much a NW trait like for like or like last week takes of gratzel and puts on 2 forwards and like today didnt change a thing on pitch.

I will remain patient with Harris, he deserves the window to start to change things. However, the one game he absolutely can not afford for the team to under perform is against the Jacks. I think that's literally make or break for him.

He cannot change owt. He is clueless.

You'd think that if there was any team whose weaknesses he would be well aware of and able to exploit it would have been the team he managed until recently.

Unfortunately not.

Think you’re right about this one.

Only if he has the players to do it. There is no pace in this side, and that’s not his fault.

Do you think Millwall have better players? If so even more concerning as Harris didn't have a clue have to manage them either.

Hi Neil, I have stayed very quiet since you came to us. Please listen to me , and take my advice. You genuinely seem like a nice guy, but that doesn't work for me. I would rather you say that I've got a pile of shit to deal with and i will get rid of the dead wood as soon as i can. Stop sticking up for our absolutely useless/ couldn't give a f**k/goddam lazy cunts. Neil, sorry but you have walked into a peach of a job coz you were the cheapest. The games we won/drew when you first took over were more luck than judgement. Mr Harris please do the right thing and f**k off from a club that is much too big for a journeyman footballer like yourself. If you actually came out and said what you really feel, I think us knobs who pay your mental wages deserve better than you. f**k off Harris

It's no different to Sir Neil saying we were unlucky and should have won each game.

The squad is seriously lacking enough ability to play anything other than Warnockball. And for 17 games of this season we were playing Warnockball badly. The players haven't changed and I doubt most of them can. We are conceding fewer goals and the defence looks solidish. The midfield is where our troubles lay. For me, Tomlin spent most of this afternoon ten yards too deep. Bacuna didn't do too badly but Pack offered nothing.

Millwall looked the best I’ve seen them in recent years down here. Harris was clearly holding them back

Harris will only see out the season, im convinced of that.
When we lose to the jacks the crowd will turn( already started) , the dire performances, forthcoming season ticket sales will significantly drop and the club will make a decision before the last game of the season.
A negative post, yes but is there anything to remain positive about.
A rubbish appointment along with his coach livermore.

Let's not kid ourselves, Harris was merely Tan's latest money saving scheme, hence not much, if any, January movement as we cannot afford to recruit, and who would want what we already have? :old: .

Luckily Mr Harris doesn't give a f##k about your opinion.

What kind of fan can shoot down a manager like you just have when he's inherited a poor squad hit with injuries and the guys not even had a chance to bring in players.

As for us being too big a club ha ha who do you think we are? Man utd, Everton etc??

Your the type of fan the club doesn't need.

I thought glatzel worked better with tomlin 1/ 2 etc nearly scored first half and tomlin also in the start of the 2nd half the keeper made a brilliant save to deny us, i am not over the moon with harris yet but be honest its warnocks team till january so the benefit has to be given to him and whatever happen's tan is not going to sack him until the end of the season.

Possibly the same one who scouted the Messiah aka Danny Ward.

Great post. A tad too positive for some on here I’d imagine.

Agree mate.
Probably going to be Warnocks team for another 2 windows at least imo.

I Think All The Fan Base Got Tired And Bored In That 1st Half, AND I Think That Some Fans Around The Stadium Saw Half Time To Leave The Match Altogether As I Saw A Few More Empty Seats In The 2nd Half.

The Match Itself Was Overall Poor But It Picked Up A Bit In The 2nd Half.
Overall Match Rating Took A Hit: 3/10

Saw highlights just now and as normal their goal could been avoided on two fronts firstly pack no idea why put boot up he was never going to get ball only the player! As for free kick wall was ok maybe could jumped higher but Etheridge must take blame he knew where ball was going yet he left gap mile wide for ball to go to if hit right, it was hit brilliantly not hard though but in place where Etheridge should have covered but he didn't.

Only seen the goal once but felt Etheridge should have been getting to that.

Funnily smithies was getting so much stick for conceding goals from distance yet Etheridge had let quite a few in.
