MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF STRUGGLE AGAIN AT HOME & FOR ME

Thu Dec 26, 2019 4:55 pm

MY VIEW / OPINION:

CARDIFF STRUGGLE AGAIN AT HOME & FOR ME A POINT AT HOME ONCE AGAIN NOT GOOD ENOUGH AS CARDIFF STRUGGLE BIG TIME AWAY FROM HOME.

Over all another dire match for Cardiff’s faithful to watch, the football not quality and chances few.

Another 2pts dropped.

Neil Harris keeps saying how good this squad is then let’s see it on then pitch.

City fans deserve better football than this.

First-half:Arguably the worst half of football in terms of quality all season.

CARDIFF CITY 1 MILLWALL 1
Crowd 23,583
Away Support approx 500

Cardiff City: Etheridge; Peltier, Flint, Nelson, Bennett; Bacuna, Pack; Mendez-Laing, Tomlin, Hoilett; Glatzel

Subs: Smithies, Bamba, Richards, Vaulks, Whyte, Paterson, Ward

A relatively sleepy opening 10 minutes at Cardiff City Stadium, with an obvious lack of accuracy from both sides. Just cancelling each other out.

Arguably the worst half of football in terms of quality all season.

H/T 0-0

Cardiff started well and had a couple of good chances making the Millwall goalie make an excellent save from one one of them.

Sustained pressure eventually paid off 1-0 Cardiff, as Flint tapped ball in to the net :bluebird:

63rd min Pack terrible foul outside box with Millwall scoring an absolute beauty from the free-kick 1-1

Cardiff continued the pressure but mostly outside the box with shots going wide.

But over all nothing special from either side and a draw a fair result.

The football is getting worse.
Warnocks was bad to watch but at least we created something now and again.
I can see the booing starting soon if we have any more of these displays

Simply not good enough.

Re: MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF STRUGGLE AGAIN AT HOME & FOR

Thu Dec 26, 2019 5:02 pm

We’re becoming too predictable.... ball going backwards and Flint pointing at Nelson towards NE who smashes it upfield towards Glatzel/Ward who heads it down and nobody going for 2nd ball... we get it back play it backwards and repeat.... only time we seem to go forward is through Bacuna and Tomlin....Pack is hit and miss, today showed that he played some really good passes but he also played some really shit football too giving the ball away too often. Roll on the transfer window

Thu Dec 26, 2019 5:03 pm

Every game we say it cant get worse but it does, jesus christ most rhondda teams I play against can keep the ball longer than we can and the amount of misplaced passes was atrocious :banghead: :banghead:

After a decent honeymoon period under Harris where results improved, the last two home games have been very poor. As said many times before the quality of passing from this team is absolutely woeful. The amount of unforced errors is appalling. There are possibly better footballing teams in league 1 than us. Harris of course deserves two windows to move players on and make his own team but I am starting to worry that he has the right motivational qualities. Time will tell.

No foot ball no desire no skill we got what we deserved.

I thought the football could not get any worse than the game against Preston. I was wrong. It Harris is on a mission to make us the most boring side in the football league he is succeeding. There will be no one left in the stadium by the end of the season. Come back Neil Warnck all is forgiven.

Not much more to say then that really, no one busting a gut or anything, so sick and tired of just a lack of effort from a players to beat someone.

Two poor performances at home.
I can see the crowd turning on Harris, will that be a surprise no,he was an uninspiring cheap option,it feels similar to last time we came out of the Premier league.

Re: MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF STRUGGLE AGAIN AT HOME & FOR

Thu Dec 26, 2019 5:38 pm

To have two back to back to performances like that at home tells me just how rubbish we are and Harris is out of his depth. To not get a reaction from the Preston game even in as much as effort shows to me we are in for a long, miserable ride under the new boss

Re: MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF STRUGGLE AGAIN AT HOME & FOR

Thu Dec 26, 2019 5:41 pm

He hasn't even had a transfer window yet and has only lost 1 game

I wasnt a fan of him coming but atleast let him changes what he feels fit and judge him on that.

Warnock never gave tomlin a chance and a few others atleast hes letting them play and judging each h and everyone on what hes seeing. To go for promotion would be stupid we dont have the foundation of players to keep us there

Couldn’t make today, watched Brentford beat Swansea. Very enjoyable football. Watching Preston now who are all over Leeds. We should have gone for Alex Neil.

Alex Neil...we'd be lucky to attract Alex Jones from the One Show

I thought Harris may last until the end of next season, I really dont see him lasting till April if the standard of performances do not improve.
Hard to believe they train everyday.

lol I was thinking that, what are they doing in training? What happens after a game? It feels like its "Cya next game boys, try not to get hurt in the week"

I think Pack trains with the opposition every week. That would explain alot.

you think he don't want promotion because it would be stupid.

Harris should never have been appointed and needs to be replaced for us to progress. Can see us getting into a relegation battle next season with him. No game plan other than try and get it to Tomlin.

Luke,

Harris was cheap and does not want to spend money, suits Tan.

Why would an alleged progressive club opt for a manager with a 27% win record like Harris?

Unbelievable - can’t belive you are writing the manger off after eight games, with no transfer window to bring in his type of players and clear the dead wood out which will take more than one window.

According to NW he said this squad was a top two squad on Goals on Sunday the other week so if that was the case why was your top two squad languishing in the bottom half of the table and just lost in both derbies in which the performances were absolute shite.

You have to give the new manager a chance

Dobbins, he has already stated he does not need money and this squad is full of quality.

For me Harris is a top League 1 Manager.

My opinion yes after 8 games here the football is dire.

Unbelievably bad appointment, unfortunately if you employ mediocitry , we will get the same on the pitch.
Lose to the jacks with another woefull performance and the crowd will turn.
He has not gained the respect of the fans and never will in my opinion.

The problem is that every time he speaks he's telling us what a fantastic squad he has and how everybody is such a great player.

Either he's trying to motivate the players to perform to their true potential (it's not working) or if he truly believes what he's saying then his judgement is seriously questionable.

I'm sure it was made clear to him when he arrived that there was little or no money available to him in the transfer windows so he must have known he would have to deal with what he's got especially as nobody is going to be knocking on his door on January 1st with any decent offers for any of our players.

We'll see how he gets on in the window but I will be amazed if we bring in any quality - a few young Premier League loanees would be nice but does Harris have the clout to attract anybody decent? We'll see.

I have not seen one decent game since he came in, defence looks wide open at times and a total lack of cohesion amongst the players.
Close your eyes and it could be russell slade all over again.

These ARE his type of players
The squadbisbgood enough for the playoffs. The fact we are so bad at the moment and still within 3 points of 6th proves that. A decent manager would get this team top 6 this season pretty easily

Re: MY VIEW / OPINION: CARDIFF STRUGGLE AGAIN AT HOME & FOR

Any manager coming in is going to say he has a great bunch of players to work with - you ain’t going to say they are shit as you have to work with them on a day to day basis.

For me the cause of the problem is deeper than the manager it is what has been drilled into them for the last few years and that is proving difficult to change

Smithies in Etheridge out for starters will help with building play from the back and distribution to our attacking players. I can’t see how he can persevere with Etheridge
