Most are happy with trade and cooperation. Ease of travel also great. But why are we giving up swathes of decision making powers? Being against the political EU doesn't make you racist or bigoted. It doesn't make you stupid or ignorant. It just means you want to do things in a different way.

I am not sure why the UK population have to work additional years before they have access to their state pension while many of these countries being helped by our contributions are able to retire far earlier. If they are to become richer, does it make sense to have the population contributing to the wealth of the country by working fewer years which means that they are being paid from the pension pot for many more years. Not sure how this works. Our government have calculated that things needed to change here with more people taking money from the pot as life expectancy increases, and you would assume countries like Malta would take similar measures. Perhaps they will all have to take stock of things now one of their biggest contributors are going to be trying to put their own house in order rather than being instructed as to how their own funds can be spent.

To be fair most of the countries pay vastly more contributions into the state pension than we do in the uk Take Germany it is 19% of salary France very similar . We just don’t pay enough into pensions at state level We also have employers pensions scheme which most eu countries don’t It just different systems
