The difference is we had Gunnarason sat in front of the defence stopping most attacks before they reach the centre backs. Now teams walk freely into them and they are wide open.
Nothing to do with Etheridge whines average at best

Gunners barely played. Great server to the club but he was passed it

He was leading his country into major international tournaments against the best players in the world in his last season with us and still is now. Hardly past it. He is a huge miss in our midfield and far better than anyone we currently have in our squad
He was 29 in his last season with us and played 28 games . If that's passed it then people like Ronaldo at 34 must be ancient

the stats for touches in the opposition box.. corners..shots were more often than not very decent.
what we almost always came 2nd in was possession...possession in the middle third of the pitch. that was the case this year too.. continuity I think was the big difference ..we had kept all our main guys and added a bit that year. this year it was almost the opposite, lost too many of last years regulars.....with zero patient fans.
under Harris our results have improved a bit .. possession in that middle third has improved a bit . but possession in the attacking third is less..

Now, you could argue none have gone on to better things in their playing careers. But as a four, I think they were brilliant.
