What’s your ideal goal now this season?

Personally I think the goal this season would be a mid table finish, sort the squad out and go for promotion next season once Harris has had the summer transfer window.

We need proven goal scorers up front who can play PL/Championship football not L1/German L2-3 or Spanish L2 players, same goes for midfield and defence.

I feel if we got into the playoffs and promoted we’d struggle even more in the PL and drop straight back down learning and changing nothing and being in the same position we are now.

What are your thoughts/goals for the rest of this season??

Agree this season we are not in a position to think of promotion. Clear decks and give harris backing to go for it next season

My sentiments exactly let Harris sort out his own players,to go with some we have already,wouldn't want promotion with our current players,even though they were there last year. Re group and go again next year.

I still think the play offs are not beyond us. and should we reach the 4 team lottery and win it you just don't know..is any team ready ? Fulham looked much better on paper than ourselves, then spent a fortune ,which resulted in …?..Villa similarly could go the same way.. so I think if your waiting for us to be ready, wait you will..

I’d be more than happy if we got to the playoffs and won, however realistically we’d be worse in the PL with this current group at this moment in time than we were last season.... we need to give Harris a decent summer transfer window instead of a quick January window.

Be good if we could climb a few places, but the table give an accurate picture of where we are at the moment. Hopefully be able to strengthen and push on next season. I think this campaign is about stabilising the club after our relegation season, and ensuring we do not slip down any further.

I see this season very much like Warnocks first... assess where we are and push on from there. I cant believe the negativity , people turning up ready to count mistakes ffs..

I think a lot of the negativity on here stems from some fans having unrealistic expectations in the first place. It was always unlikely that we would bounce back at the first attempt. History tell us that rarely happens. Following relegation, it was important that we didn't continue the downward spiral that has happened in the past. I think we are doing ok, even if performances have been a bit disappointing. Our new manager is doing a reasonable enough job given the players he inherited, and the style of football that they were brought here to play. Be great to get a play off place, but in all honesty, I I have thought that was unlikely before the season even started, and I have seen nothing to change my mind. As someone else has said, a decent league season with a nice cup run would be good, and hopefully push on from there next season.

I think some of it comes from the amount of TV football and analysis.. the younger ones { even in forties } have been brought up on watching the best players in the world on a twice weekly basis...we got to watch Cardiff and a few 10 minute highlights of the top players in black and white. which made it easier to enjoy what was infront of us instead of making unrealistic comparisons even if its subconsciously ?
