A forum for all things Cardiff City

Preston manager Alex Neil told BBC Radio Lancashire:
"I think everyone who watched the game would have recognised we were by far the better side.
"I don't think Cardiff had a shot on target, the one at the end might have been going over... I felt we dominated the game in both boxes.
"It was just that final little bit, we needed to find that first goal. I am pleased with how we played, but disappointed we didn't win.
"We have played a lot worse than that this season and won... so it is frustrating."

Yeah, they were a little better but still pretty shite.

It’s hard to believe they were 3rd in the Championship at the start of play today. Yet another team that aren’t really any better than us. We have a chance of reaching the playoffs this year because we are one of about 14 teams in mid table who are only average in ability and very inconsistent.

I thought they were far better than us, they had a shape and played constructive football that created them chances that they should have scored from. I thought we tried to play but we haven't got the players with the mindset or possibly ability to keep the ball and go forward. Unfair to judge before Harris has a couple of transfer windows to equip the squad with his players.

Alex Neil has a track record in the championship whereas our guy doesn't.
We have better players (bet our wage bill is more than double) and were playing at home but in all sense got mullered.
This isn't going to end well

they are a good team THIRD at KO...and we got mullered nil nil by a team that had one decent shot..
did you really expect ANY manager to arrive and within no time at all have us playing fast flowing attacking football while stringing runs of 4 or 5 wins at a time against all comers ?

I'd prefer us to play a lot more but its not essential. What I want is for us to execute the game plan well and we haven't for the last two games.
If we are 99% of the times at restarts whack it to a target man to out muscle his opponents then play a fella who can do it. Also pick the keeper who can kick the ball roughly in the right area. Time and time again the ball was nowhere near Glatzel with Pack and Bacuna ahead of the ball as it was under hit.
It was reminiscent of every Glatzel start under Warnock, he can't play that role, but we persist.
Last week it was Flint and Morrison, the tapes are there don't compliment each other, so a big earner has to sit on the bench, not ideal, but not Harris's fault either.
If we are not trying to hold onto the ball more then drop Pack, he is not a defensive midfielder, he is a slow but technical CM
The first few games I was really happy, but we have regressed very quickly. Massive pressure for Boxing day. 2 points from 9 can't be 2 or 3 from 12, it needs to be 5 from 12.
