A forum for all things Cardiff City

Cardiff City manager Neil Harris told BBC Sport Wales:
"It was not the most exciting game, not the excitement we have been used to anyway.
"In some ways I am pleased, because we got a clean sheet and looked relatively reliable... but we lacked creativity.
"Credit goes to Preston. But we weren't good enough in possession today.
"I wouldn't say I am grateful for a point, there wasn't much in it, but Preston look a well-oiled ship after two years with Alex Neil."

How is he papering over the cracks when A. He lists everywhere we were at fault and B. Has said he's going to have a clear out in January to bring in new players.

Hi is entitled to point out that the other manager has had two years working with his squad....... whilst Harris is still learning people’s names!

We were absolute shit. Couldn't string 2 passes together, no excitement, no shots. Outsung by 200 Preston fans.
A fecking disgrace.
Cant remember the last time I was that bored at a match.

I hope realises there is a match against the jacks coming up, if we put in a performance like today against them ,I dread to think of the crowds reaction as it was absolute shite today
The talk of everyone on the way out was how shite it was

A slight improvement when he initially took over, the usual when a new manager takes over. Since then, poor selections, poor performances. Wrong manager.

They just have a manager with a plan, we don't.
Piss poor kick and rush, pointless.

And today what was their plan exactly? Whatever it was it didnt work! didn't I read they had one shot on target same as us? But what I would be more concerned about is fact it took us until 90+ mins to get a corner now that is bad for us...

Looks like his time is up in certain quarters

he inherited this squad remember, he needs to offload the deadwood, and get some players of his choice in january, although we were absolutely garbage today,we didn't lose (again)I'll wait until I see who comes in in january,no point in worrying who may leave, not our jobs.

his start has been play off form...its equal to Malkys first 7 games... and better than any other managers first 7 games here since Lennie Lawrence but that was lge1 and he was already at the club so knew the players and what didn't work... ..not sure what people expect...
he is finding his feet seeing what does and doesn't work and ticking the points along in the process.

I do agree that he needs time to change things and I think he can’t do that with this current squad. He will need at least two transfer windows in my opinion.
He certainly has the backing of the board I can tell you.

He's said we weren't good enough in possession. That seems honest enough. Sir Neil didn't know what possession was half the time.
Its a third clean sheet in 7.Thats now the same number as in the first 16 games. His seven games have seen us collect points in play off average if we did it for a season. He has an inherited squad that everyone moaned was imbalanced from three successive dire windows. What do we expect?
