Anyone remember when Wolves signed Benik Afobe and then sold him straight away last season?

Random question but anyone know potential reasons behind things like this? Surely the player and club agreed terms they were happy with prior to the move.

Maybe it was in the agreement that if they went up they had to sign him for a set price.

that was defo the case with Afobe where Wolves had to agree to buy him if promoted. but didn't really want him in the Prem..

strangely enough that deal was also initially a 6 month loan with an obligation to purchase...
