Duncan Ferguson to remain in caretaker charge of Everton for Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final against Leicester.

He's won trophies at big clubs like Real Madrid, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Chelsea etc
But this is a gamble I think by Everton, because he won't have come cheap and it's a totally different challenge to those jobs at big clubs.

they see themselves as a big club and have been . historically the 7th most attended club all time which would be higher if not for the reduced capacity of Goodison after converting to all seater..

Not surprised by ambitious Everton going after a coach of this calibre; but I am surprised he took on the challenge
Having said that, Everton are another of those 'sleeping giant' lubs people tend to talk about and I'm sure he won't be short of a few shillings to spend

Something's not sitting right with me over this appointment-they'll be looking again next summer.

Agreed, that's how I thought it would go. Possibly a better option considering money.

Not to going to be short of a quid either by all accounts. Huge gamble by Everton.
Will cost a bomb to pay off if it doesn't work out.

Well he's never built a team from scratch like he needs to do at Everton so be interesting how well he does

Everton have had a very good squad for for a few seasons. They are phenomenonaly well supported considering their lack of success and inability to match the top four and have been caught and over taken by man City and spurs in recent years. It's a big appointment for sure.
Why does Eddie Howe never get linked for these type of jobs?
