How is it fair to the fans that have paid for them. Fans pay for them and fair weathers get to go for free? Nope, horrendous idea.
They should give the weekly tickets to local schools.

Yes, that’s why I said it.
Season tickets are a great expense and to give them away is wrong. Giving tickets to local schools means a different set of people get the chance to use the tickets each time meaning that season ticket buyers aren’t getting a better deal by not buying one and waiting for a free one.
Giving to local schools means that a different person gets to experience a game each time and season ticket holders still get value for money (ST’s generally work out as 3 free matches, so giving joe bloggs a free match won’t put their nose out of joint).
That’s business, not all will immediately understand so glad I could help.

Of course it works. And of course it’s (relatively) fair as the custodian of the free ticket isn’t getting a better deal than a season ticket holder. Season ticket holders get on average 3/4 free games due to discounted tickets.
If I paid my rent in advance of £15,000 a year and I heard my neighbour under the same landlord was given 6 months free I’d be fuming. However if my neighbour told me they got to stay for one night to help them out, I’d be more than fine with it.
The art of business is to service new customers while not p*ssing off your current ones. So giving half season tickets away for free will most certainly not fit that bill. Giving free tickets to schools to fill empty seats is not only acceptable to current customers but probably desirable to many who want the ground filled without feeling ripped off.

you do not think Newcastle hope to benefit from this other than temporarily filling seats![]()
schools don't fill seats for umpteen reasons , and certainly not 8k 1 off seats 10 times. its a bit naïve mate..well a hell of a lot naïve actually.
