From his performances in the couple games he started early on in the season I really thought he played poor, wether he did or not is another story, I’ve seen a lot and heard other people’s opinions on footballers especially recently where I can realise that maybe I just have certain standards that a player should adhere too, and maybe someone like Vaulks for example is a different sort of player to the one I am basing his performances on.
Having said that, his 15 minute cameo last night was so good I thought he was immediately impactful by closing that space in midfield that Barnsley were exploiting for most of the game. Vaulks showed real fight in defence and midfield, but also impressed me in his attacking intent too with his runs down the wing, ability to make a really good switch and through ball that usually takes Pack about 3 seconds to spot. Again, that’s only 15 minutes but if he can play like that for most near enough a full game consistently he is going to be a real big player for us. Watch this space (hopefully!)

Thought he was decent when he came on. Decent energy in closing down and getting forward and looks to get a pass off quickly. Just hope we don’t rely on the long throw all the time if he does play more.

I hope he gets a chance because I think he could be the box to box to box player with energy in midfield that we lack. Not afraid to put in a tackle, closes players down and from his record at Rotherham can score a few as well. Got unfairly criticized for Readings first goal at the start of the season - when the defence were slow getting back- and hasn't really had a chance since.

He doesnt get unfairly criticised, the truth is he was a squad filler signing who is rightly imo 4th choice as a starter.

I think he gives us something that the other midfielders just haven’t got in the way he will make a run past the opposition back four.
Bacuna, Ralls and Pack are all quite static and running with or off the ball isn’t their strength.
I haven’t been that impressed with Vaulkes until yesterday, now I think he might well be quite an important player. He certainly will have the motivation with the Euros coming up.

Vaulks made a few good passes when he came on. I believe he will play a big part this season now he's in the squad
