" Amazon Prime to make Premier League history this week "

Mon Dec 02, 2019 10:50 pm

Amazon Prime will make Premier League history this week as they become the first online streaming service to show live Premier League matches.

The streaming giant will show all ten matches across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

All you need is an Amazon Prime subscription to watch any of the games for no additional charge.

Amazon, who paid £90m for Premier League rights this season, will also show all ten matches on 26-27 December.

The fact it's a bit behind real time is annoying.

But very good coverage to be fair.

My favourite feature is you can listen to just crowd noise and no commentary.

Decent coverage of the Man City game.
The pundits are doing a good job even though we are used to seeing most of them. Gabby and Shearer sound and seem more relaxed and not as competitive to be 'funny' as they are on BBC. De Jong is ok and Martinez is good too. A step up from the usual fare.

Didn't know you could do that. Watched it in a pub this evening, and commentary on the Man City match was cringeworthy.

The fact it's nearly a minute delayed though is enough to put me off. The sooner Amazon Prime sports streaming service falls away, the better

Why? it's better than paying through the nose for Sky/BT

I think this is just the beginning of streaming services showing live Premier League football.

Amazon are said to be delighted with how it went last night, and expect that it will go even better for them tonight.

They have this deal for a further two seasons after this one.

At the next bidding process for TV rights, I think we can all expect Amazon, Netflix and others to be heavily involved.

Final two matches until Boxing Day for Amazon tonight.

Sheffield United v Newcastle at 7.30pm and Arsenal v Brighton at 8.15pm.

Personally, I'm a big fan of it. This is the future.

No complaints but the multi tasking is a killer trying to keep up with two games simultaneously!

Other Major Services Were Putting There Name In The Hat To Show The Premier League Exclusively Such As YouTube, Facebook AND Netflix. Overall Loving The New TV Style They Have. I Am A Sucker For New TV Graphics For The Premier League And If They Added A Bit More Colour To It It Would Be The Most Complete Package For Amazon.

Not sure about the need for more colour but some extended use of capital letters in the graphics would be good.
