MY VIEW:FOR ALL NOTTINGHAM FOREST POSSESSION & PRESSURE / FO

MY VIEW / OPINION:

FOR ALL NOTTINGHAM FOREST POSSESSION & PRESSURE / FOREST STILL ONLY MANAGED A COUPLE OF CLEAR SHOTS ON GOAL WITH CARDIFF GETTING THE 3PTS THANKS TO A GREAT MENDEZ-LAING GOAL :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Forest had 30 Shots .

Cardiff City's first away win of the season, giving the near 1,500 Cardiff fans plenty to be happy about.

City's defence held out and so a clean sheet :thumbright: :bluebird:

For me this is the best win of the season so far, away at Forest who challenging for Automatic promotion. :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

So its now 2 victories and a draw for new manager Neil Harris.

For me Gary Madine is lacking badly in confidence and today instead shooting when the Forest Goal was clearly in his sight and no one to beat and virtually an empty goal, passed it on.

First-half: Forest put Cardiff under a considerable amount of pressure, but their finishing was awful and thanks to a superb goal by Mendez-Laing Cardiff went in winning 1nil :thumbright: :bluebird:
Forest had most of the possession. but hardly had a shot on target.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST 0 CARDIFF CITY 1 :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:
Crowd 28,209
Away Support ( 1,480) Cardiff :bluebird:

Cardiff City: Etheridge; Peltier, Nelson, Flint, Bennett; Pack, Bacuna; Mendez-Laing, Tomlin, Hoilett; Madine

Subs: Smithies, Morrison, Vaulks, Murphy, Paterson, Ward, Coxe

Early pressure from Forest, but City dealt with it.

14th min Mendez-Laing curled in a shot, brilliant goal 1nil Cardiff :thumbright: :bluebird:

Lee Tomlin, made a number of good runs and has been a real threat to Forest :bluebird: :bluebird:

Forest were putting all the balls out to Ameobi who thankfully was having a shocker of a game and missing a number of chances.

Thankfully Forest final ball was awful.

H/T 0-1 :bluebird:

Forest once again were doing all the attacking, but Cardiff looked dangerous on the counter attack :bluebird: :bluebird:

Gary Madine had a clear shot at goal, rather than taking a shot on virtually an empty goal, passed it to Hoilett, which was behind Hoilett and it ended up going out.

Gary Madine NO CONFIEDENCE

Mendez-Laing made a couple of good runs.

67th min Cardiff: Ward came on for Gary Madine

Forest once again had more chances, thankfully shots over the crossbar :ayatollah:

Forest continued to press Cardiff, with more shots going wide.

80 mins Cardiff: Callum Paterson came on, Mendez-Laing went off.

85th min Sean Morrison came on, Junior Hoilett went off.

It was backs to the walls at times.

I’m not convinced... nothing has changed performance wise since Warnock left I will judge Harris when he’s had enough time to put his mark on the side

Fantastic win today.

By all accounts, Etheridge didn't have many meaningful saves.

A great start for Harris.

Gap is closing on the playoffs which has to be the target.

They had 30 shots 11 were blocked and 2 saved! Got to be worse shooting seen in many a year

Like said above...3 games and 1 goal conceded ...7 points and could have been 9.....for those not convinced , don’t know what else Harris has to do to get support off some....I preferred Houghton but Harris has done exactly what was needed and can do no more .
Early days but no one can’t say we haven’t improved fir his appointment

I know it's early days and 3 games tell us little, but it would be interesting to hear from those who slated the appointment of Harris and who weren't interested in giving him a fair crack of the whip before a ball was even kicked. A decent enough start, two clean sheets, and a result today that I never saw coming. He did nothing to warrant some of the comments on here when he arrived, and so far so good.

He can't have hoped for much more from 3 games.

However we were supposed to be looking for a new style of play so he needs time to provide that.

Obviously the test will be how we perform over a longer period of time.
Obviously we need to be in the playoffs for it to be a successful appointment.

Watched the last 15 mins which were tense, but Cardiff looked nice and compact forcing Forest into long wild shots

Great result, and Im sure Harris will be happy to finally have a week where he can work on the training ground with the players and implement more of his ideas on to the team which might result in a better style of play over time, but cant argue with the results atm :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Back to back league wins 1st time this season, 1st away win, more fluid football, looking more dangerous on break, stopped doing dead balls to back post generally better defending as seen yesterday, and 3 points off playoffs but guess these things wont satisfy you but suspect promotion wont either :laughing6:

I said doubt he's ever seen city play because his statements don't support what most fans have noticed about teams performances last 3 games probably because he hasn't seen us play ...
