Our Hybrid squad and Harris could be great

Neil Harris in 2 games has shown us attractive football in one, and a real gritty solid to break down unit in the other. That’s a great sign that the qualities that made us like Warnock particularly in our promotion season (e.g Never say die attitude with coming back from 2-0 and also keeping our clean sheet in the last game) are still going to be a part of this team, but as well as that, when the opportunity arises it looks like Harris is to allow our player a lot of freedom to attack and play the ball to feet, meaning more control of possession and games sometimes.

For me, I have said Harris is the “safe” appointment and myself and others would have hoped for a real big character or an up and coming welsh “one of our own” manager like Bellamy. But I happily admit, Harris is more than just a safe option. He’s probably an evolution on Warnock in the sense Heaney young enough and ambitious enough to not let philosophy’s get in the way of a victory. He’s shown by changing formation numerous times in just 2 games that he can adopt and change to the situation, and so far his changes have all come off.

I’m very excited with Harris in charge and if anybody still has any doubts, I think you should open your mind a bit more. Let’s not forget how there’s still a lot of the season to play, and not panic if we lose tomorrow. We’ve got a mixed squad with a lot of players that never really made sense for Warnock to attain, however we have them, and who knows the hybrid of our squads different qualities could build into something unlike any other team and in my eyes an adaptable squad is what makes the best teams.
