We've got Neil Harris all wrong

Sun Nov 24, 2019 1:03 pm

I know he's only had one game, but I think the majority of the Cardiff fan base, myself included, have got Neil Harris all wrong.

We moaned when he was appointed, but yesterday we played some sexy football. Football that we haven't seen at the CCS, or anywhere, for years.

I think at Millwall he played route one because he had no other options due to limited money and resources. Pumping to Steve Morrison was his best game plan, because Millwall fans demanded the ball went forward as quickly as possible.

Whereas at City, he has some good ball playing midfielders who want to get it on the deck. Pack, Tomlin, Ralls, Bacuna, Vaulks, Bamba, are all capable of putting 20-30 passes together. Give him a couple transfer windows and we could be in for a treat.

Half-time yesterday, he changed the formation to match Charlton, and we come away with a point. When did Warnock ever change formation or tactics? I can't think of a time when he did.

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I really do think we're on to something here.

Neil Harris Barmy Army!

NW did it against Fulham away in premier after 80mins when to late but rarely changed tactics was usually like for like subs ...yesterday breath fresh air to see a change work so effectively.

Didn't see a lot of sexy football in the first half to be honest!

Second half much better but we even though we could have won the game in the second half we could easily have lost it too as Charlton's reserves were able to stroll through our midfield at will and put pressure on our extremely unimpressive back four.

Harris has a big job to do at our club and he needs to look at every area of the pitch starting with a back four that leaks goals at an alarming rate and which can't buy a clean sheet at the moment.

Whilst the first half was like a friendly we did up the ante in the second half.
Good to see such an improvement from the squad.
The defence though needs to see Morrisson and Bamba to return.
Will NH be brave enough to drop Flint?

Football is a squad game they've had players missing all season so have we! They did not suddenly have 9 players injured from last match they played, neither did we for that matter so this reserve team bit is rubbish ... but we could have won could lost that's football

no they hadn't lost 9 from the last game or the game before. they lost both btw...
but their form has been awful.
Harris is one game in. hasn't lost, spirited comeback but all this sexy football/ more like it/ much better talk is way over the top..
the game was wide open because neither side had control or could defend...

Everyone should be given a chance - then we should pass our views .... Sadly this is how it works on most places !!!
