That team excites me.
Playing 2 target men, with 2 consistent wingers who can get some good crosses in.
Wether we score the chances or not is one thing, but we should be getting alot of service to our front 2 looking at this.

We have 4 wingers in the squad and only Hoilett can produce a decent cross. Let's hope today is different

If that was a Warnock team the forum would be up in arms! Nothing about that team excites me

You got to be joking surely

some are so easily pleased.
I'd be excited if Harris put half the squad on the transfer list, and half would come from the starting line up today!

NML consistent? He’s been poor all season.
We look more direct than we did under warnock.

Our full backs have overlapped twice already. This is a step forward for me already.

Still can't defend for shit. Bennett needs to be dropped

Nothing exciting about this set up and manager.

Are you actually watching Luke?
Going forward we've tried to create and mostly keep the ball down. There's positives there for me

Positives for me was the fact we got the ball down and actually tried to play a bit, and seeing wingers play as wingers and not full backs was nice to see, along with the man to man marking system (which I hated) is gone. Also nice to see us not just sit back and have a striker who was isolated all game, and having to run channels for 90 mins.
However id be amazed if he went for the same team on Tuesday as I thought Flint, Peltier, Pack and Paterson really struggled and can see Flint and Paterson being dropped for the next game. Needs to get the right players in, and it also doesn't help when defenders keep making the same stupid individual errors all the time and you miss a penalty.

we looked all at sea defensively without the wingers tracking back as much though...
1st game hope it gets better...

Defensively?
It was refreshing to see bit of pace and confidence with ball at feet with Nelson, though his inexperience at times showed in his defending, however Flint with his experience has no excuse for his ball watching and for going AWOL. Peltier slow, Bennett better today, normally the worst of the ball watchers, not so much today but final ball still not good enough.
Midfield?
To many times large gaps for opponents to exploit but they have been so used to playing with a midfield 3, I expected this to happen. Bacuna good, Pack improved second half and he needed to, Great tackle in the box from Vaulks at the end.
Forwards?
Lang our most creative player had a decent game, Hoillett I feel should be doing so much better but also a decent game, Tomlin played well and asked questions, Paterson, Madine and Bogle just don't do it for me, and didn't offer much today
Encouraging, room for improvement, its obvious which areas need strengthening with more quality. The midfield and defence is just slow, and not clinical up top. Not easy fixes when you have a January cheque book

They should track back if there's an overlapping full back but they shouldn't be deployed as wing backs with the full backs dropping to Centre halfs, it just means out strikers get isolated which happened all the time under Warnock. Hopefully with more training sessions we'll get better but was encouraging to see us play a bit.
