Do people still want it at Cardiff haven't heard much about it in a while

We always had safe standing. You stood on the Bob or Grange, and watched a game of football. Never knew where this odd phrase originated.

Cardiff city said last season they have no plans to install it in the near future as we already have an agreement to allow standing in the Canton.

I would personally like it but think the correct term is Rail seating?

it was a recommendation of the Taylor report... so I think the jump was made to standing being not safe... but he didn't say that.

The Canton is fine just as it is, don't change it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :bluescarf: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

Totally agree. I'm old enough to remember the games with Real Madrid and Leeds in the late 60's early 70's and the biggest I think was around 56,000 in NP against Arsenal. It was a bit cosy, but as far as I know, nobody came to any harm. This stupid H&S phrase "safe standing" has only come about in the last couple of years.
Hillsboro and Ibrox were terrible incidents, but millions and millions of people went to football grounds that were packed to the rafters, and with no harm at all, it was just an OTT reaction that lead to all seaters.

thing is Hillsborough had far more to do with fences than terrace...and ibrox was not on the terrace but in a stairwell where exactly the same could happen behind a seated area..

My days of standing for 2 hours are long gone.
Heated seats would be my ideal scenario now.

The biggest single dissapointment of the new stadium. No singing section nearer away fans.
