Thanks mate I'm corrected their votes,it makes me laugh though how gullible can people be.

Re: Ha ha tuition fees again

Thu Nov 21, 2019 5:53 pm

They aren't promising to get rid of student debt so anyone that could vote for them and benefit would be 17 ... Therefore not able to vote. No wonder they want to lower the voting age to 16

Its something the country cannot afford! the what labour is planning on spending we as a country would need the EU to bail us out (if we're still in it?) :laughing5:

Free in Scotland for Scottish or UK residents living in Scotland
SNP introduced it a while back.

Maybe that’s part of the reason Scotland operates a running loss of £10bn every year..

My daughter got student loan debts of about 25k from 4yrs in uni that is not sustainable if its free to all? As you say no wonder Holyrood is in debt if that is kind of policy there .. but there again being supported by Westminster helps! Wonder how manage with independence and no money from Westminster?

University is an important brain washing tool for Marxists, too important to cut back on now the end goal is in sight. My neighbour is a new politics graduate and wears a Soviet Union "hammer & sickle" T Shirt.....
I asked why she wore the t-shirt, she said to "educate people about politics". Lol!

I asked if she realised that Soviet Communism was very oppresive and killed 20 million people. . . She did a snowflake routine as if id just slapped her arse in the work place, we haven't spoken since. What an eye opener, I'm completely depressed about this country but atleast I haven't lost my touch with the women.

I've been to Budapest, St Petersburg, Moscow and Baku this year. All seem to be doing better without the stranglehold of the communist state. One thing that struck me though. People over 50 don't smile, its like they never learned how to.

It’s a tax not a debt.

Its a burden on the economy for the future but going back to the days of full state funding is unaffordable. Ironically if Labour go that way it will be the ultra left leaning educational establishment that will bear the brunt. There's absolutely no way the Government would match the funding. Not so much as a dickie bird coming out of the institutions on Labours proposals as apposed to the chorus of squeeling when T May proposed the fee reduction to £ 7.500. They wanted absolute assurance that the funding gap would be met by the government. Labour go miles further and get a free ride.

To be fair the Tory's have really let the students down. The current arrangements could have been written by Wonga. They should at least go with T May's reduction, go with Farage's removal of interest rates or at least very low cap and make all repayments tax deductible at the standard rate. In practical terms that would be a tax credit of 25%. Oh and make the whole thing retrospective. We don't want these debts hanging around but at least give them a fair chance to repay them.

6% interest is rediculas it appears to be a policy of we wont get it all back but something is better than nothing? Generally student debt wont be paid off fully before the time allowed runs out. But free tuition fees are not sustainable by any strentch of the imagination. :old:

How many Scottish students are there ? - 2017 there were 34,830 x £9,000
How many English students are there ? Cant find the exact figure - but it is approx 2,000,000 students x £9,000

Add up the totals and you will see quite a difference in the actual amount it costs. Small amount = affordable , big amount - not so affordable. Ask Nick Clegg for the details.

Surely there's more than 35k Scottish students not that I'm doubting the comment in general.

It is really just a form of taxation for people who go to University if they get a decent income they pay it back if they don't have to pay the tax, seems perfectly fair as it is?

Why should all taxpayers pay for it?

Another stupid idea, and attempt to buy votes!

I noticed that, the same as Moldova and Albania, all the older people are terrified of showing emotion or talking to strangers.
They are paranoid of being watched and questioned, even a basic question about directions or cost of items. It's a result of years of socialist oppression.

Never said it was fair mate. Don't particularly like the SNP either. It's still a fact though if you're a resident in Scotland it's free tuition. Don't agree with European student not paying either.

The science graduate says “why does that work?”

The engineering graduate says “how does that work?”

The finance graduate says “how much does that cost?”

The arts graduate says “do you want fries with that?”

What did you think of Budapest? My Mrs has had a brainwave of moving there to start a fresh as it seems to have rejected globalism and seems to be quite strong on family and law and order...
