Yma o Hyd

Loved hearing it against Hungary. Learn the lyrics lads I want to hear it booming around the canton on Tuesday or the chorus at the very least  :ayatollah:

Are Wales playing at the stadium again on Tuesday?

Or maybe we should sing it for the benefit of the numerous Welsh players in our team?

I'm afraid I don't go to the Wales games but I was wondering do they sing Cardiff City songs at the international games? Perhaps there is the occasional chorus of "In the Swansea slums" or that old chestnut from when Wales were shit "Jimmy Saville - he's Joe Allen's dad".

Maybe we should start singing that Andy Williams song at Cardiff games as well.

Men of harlech rings around the Wales games, should we now drop it as you think songs at Internationals are off limits??

Yma o hyd is a great song and goes brilliantly with us in an English league.

Grow up you child.

We are a Welsh club and should sing Welsh songs. Especially ones like yma o hyd that show our heritage (Cardiff being Majority Welsh speaking for 90% of its history) as being unique in comparison to the 89 English clubs in the league.

Ymlaen

This. Being proud to be Welsh doesn’t make you a nat.

The point I was trying to make was that at Cardiff games we should be singing songs to encourage our players rather than songs which have no connection to our team or players.

I'm sure the opposition fans are well aware that we are Welsh without us having to sing Welsh language songs to prove it.

As for the players let me put it this way. You are obviously fiercely proud of being Welsh - let's say you played for a team based in England and every game the fans were singing "God Save The Queen" and "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" - would you be extra motivated when you heard that coming from the stands?

How would you feel if they also sang "Wales is full of shit" and "Always shit on the Welsh side of the bridge" in most games?

The fact is that we have NO Welsh internationals in our first team (although Vaulks did come on briefly yesterday) and I just can't the many different nationalities who play for us being motivated by their fans singing songs which would certainly be motivational in the context of an international match.

Still, at the end of the day you pay your money and you can sing what you like. Perhaps that means I've got a chip on both shoulders now!

I think it was an away game at Reading in their old ground and we responded to the Reading fans singing GSTQ with hen wlad fy nhadau. And Joan ( can't remember her surname, but she had a cracking pair of legs and a nice arse) who came with the Kumars said it sounded fantastic. I always wonder why we don't reply to GSTQ with our anthem, I bet the whole ground would join in. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Was going to say the same thing. Regularly played at Ninian Park before kick off and sung by Dafydd Iwan (excuse the spelling if wrong). One of many regular songs played there back in the day.
