Wow
Surely there has to be more to this story. You dont sack one of the most sought after in the world who has just taken you to a champions league final and replace him hours later. Something went wrong

Many people on here were expecting us to sign Mourinho. Of course, if we’d waited another week we could have had Pochetino!

What a horrible club and a horrible man, a marriage made in heaven and a car crash waiting to happen. Bet he won't last more than 18months......

Can't stand the man. Can't stand the way the press fall at his feet hanging on to every word he says. He'll be interviewed all the time on MOTD and Sky. I wish he'd gone to China for a few years.

Jose was lined up for some time, Allan
He had indicated recently (on sky) that he was 'close' to making a comeback and the club were ambitious and might surprise a few
Pochettino was asked to leave a week or two ago but declined (preferring the sack, as monetarily he and his coaching team are due c.£19m)
For me (if I have a 'second' team, it's Spurs because I lived up that way when Hoddle was coming through in my early working life) this is a great appointment and a rejuvenated Mourinho could be the catalyst for the club to finally challenge in a consistent manner
Interesting to see if 'Poch' goes the other way to ManUre ready for the transfer window!

Apparently it's been a month in the making no wonder potty wanted to make spurs fork out? While Jose will undoubtedly rejuvenate spurs is short term gain worth it? Yes potty to united is a distinct possibility but think it be for next season as ole looks to be getting somewhere now.

Mourinho is box office. But it comes with a lot of risk.
I think Levy is desperate to win a trophy, and Mourinho is the man to deliver that. He even won trophies during a difficult time at Man Utd.
There will be less pressure on him as there was at United to win a title, because Spurs aren't as big as Man Utd and will be realistic about that.
I think he'll do well for a few years, but history has proved that it always ends badly when Mourinho takes over.

FIVE COACHES TO WORK WITH JOSE
Tottenham have now announced a raft of appointments as part of Jose Mourinho’s backroom team including confirmation of Joao Sacramento’s arrival from Lille as assistant manager.
“We can now confirm the appointments of Joao Sacramento, Carlos Lalin, Nuno Santos, Ricardo Formosinho and Giovanni Cerra as part of new head coach Jose Mourinho’s coaching staff,” a Spurs statement read.
“Joao joins as assistant head coach from Ligue 1 side Lille, where he worked in a similar role and has also held the same position at Monaco.
“Nuno also joins from Lille as our new goalkeeper coach, having enjoyed a playing career in Portugal and Major League Soccer.
“Carlos will take up the position of fitness coach, having previously worked with Jose at Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid, while Ricardo and Giovanni will take up roles as tactical analyst and technical analyst respectively.
“Both have also worked under Jose in the past with Ricardo, a former manager of Santa Clara and Kuala Lumpar, having spent time at Old Trafford, while Giovanni worked as an analyst at both Chelsea and Manchester United.”

JOSE: I DON'T NEED NEW PLAYERS
Jose Mourinho has been speaking at his first press conference as Tottenham manager. Does he need to spend in January? Well he doesn't seem to think so... Not for now anyway!
He said: “The best gift are the players who are here. I don’t need new players. I just need to get to know these ones better. I know them well but you never know them well enough until you meet them.”

He has a decent set of players but can see him signing a couple in January.
But it doesn't need a massive overhaul at all, maybe replace the full backs in the summer.
The key for him will be keeping hold of Eriksen, Kane etc

Agree with you both, he adds to the Premier League
Poch to Arsenal would be good

if not Man U, he could be the answer at either club and would piss Spurs fans off a treat!
