Odds suspended on Harris
Sky Bet have now suspended bets on former Millwall boss Neil Harris.
Cardiff City new manager, as bookies suspend betting on former Millwall boss Neil Harris
Good source which I haven’t had for a while is 100% Neil Harris done deal.
Board convinced Warnock to stay on one more game. I will get behind Neil Harris
but it doesn’t excite me. Also a few other things mentioned about fall outs between board members and Warnock. I hope it’s not messy like it usually ends up.
Flynn was interviewed and Bellamy was brought up by Tan, but they agreed on a fresh start.
Sol Bamba has offered to be caretaker manager if needed.

Doesn't exactly excite me either. obviously the cheaper, less contentious appointment if true.
Theres a big job to be done, & a very hard act to follow.....
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:13 am
He was about my 5th or 6th in the list
Not excited one bit but I'll give him till the end of next season to offload the shit and get on with the season
Personally ide rather not challenge for playoffs now and take a chance get a few youngsters in and get them going next season

You have been right plenty of times in the past, and this appointment wouldn't surprise me at all. He might be a good one although it could take him a bit of time to get us moving in the right direction. I just hope fans don't start calling for his head if our next six games don't result in 18 points.

I'm guessing that any fall outs between NW & board members has a lot to do with his transfer record,,,, compounded by the fact that certain players were given extended contracts,,, for no apparent reason???

Noooooo!
It's Russell Slade era part 2 then
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:19 am
I posted this week we would not look for a top manager due to the finances of the club.
We will all get behind Harris if true but such an uninspiring choice and a clear indication of the club looking to just tread water in the championship.
Smacks of Russel Slade all over again.
As for NW and the board there have already been snippets that his links to MacKay were not looked on favourably by the heirarchy.
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:19 am
FFS this is Russel Slade/Trollope again. Can’t we just go with what the fans want for once for crying out loud.
The only manager in the last 10 years that was appointed who the fans like was Warnock, and some consider him the best ever manager at this club. Why aren’t we going for what the fans want again? Clearly they know more about who fits this club more than Dalman or tan who f***ing pick Ole, Slade or bloody Trollope ffs. This is a Joke if true.
Yes we’ll get behind him, we have to. But mark my words even you Annis will rightfully doubt him and not back him if he has a shaky start. If we have what the fans want then we can support the manager during shakey spells. If it’s a manager nobody really wants then we will look for any excuse to criticise him and put the pressure on. I can’t believe how OUR club cannot see how bad of an appointment this will be.

Uninspiring but looks like he's here now, so he'll get 100 percent support from me. Welcome and good luck Neil
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:23 am
His assitant manager at Millwall was David Livermore
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:24 am
I dont get how he is the number 1 choice apart from being cheap
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:25 am
Will get behind him but very underwhelming if true. Club needs a change in direction and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. Not sure much will change under Harris. Wasnt the reason he left Millwall because their fans got fed up of his long ball tactics?
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:30 am
Dont post often but read alot, had to throw my two cents in.
If this is true then its not the step we wanted, no one wanted warnock to go for the sake of going... if we were going to replace him with a man who plays exactly the same football then he may aswell have stayed.
How the board can think that this will make the fans excited is bewildering and really shows how little they know.
This was a chance to get a young hungry manager in with new ideas and install a 3-5 year plan.. build the club from ground up... get our academy going and change the entire ethos of the way we play so we can get back to going down and enjoying the football we watch.
Shambles.

Yes this looks like a continuation of hoofball.

Very uninspiring and will cause issues if we struggle for results and performances over the next month or 2, could set us back 5 years and split the fans again. Unfortunately if this is the ambition the club is showing it will have a major impact on season ticket sales for next season. Disappointed!!!!

Brilliant. Get rid of one manager because fans dont like his football and bring in a manager who plays a similar way. Sums up Cardiff perfectly.

I expect we would all like Klopp or some other big name, but money plays a big part, and the person will have to want to come here in the first place. There is more to managing than just team talks, tactics, training ground routines etc. I remember years back a previous chairman of our club telling me that the manager almost needed to be a psychologist as much as a football guru. They need to know when to put an arm around someone, when to dish out a rollocking and when to say nothing. We only see them in action for 90 minutes once or twice a week, but there is plenty of other important stuff in the background that will have been taken into account. The club will never please all of us whoever is chosen, we just have to go along with it and get behind the team and the backroom staff.

Like the slade days all over again wtf Is the club doing ?? Tamping we've gone so backwards
Thu Nov 14, 2019 11:48 am
247 people have voted in the poll, and only 2 picked harris.
I know this place isnt exactly the voice of the fans, but it is an indication of what the general feeling is about this appointment.

where did you get Flynn being interviewed by the looks of it he wasn't at all

Not bottom of my list of people mentioned but certainly bottom 3. I just dont understand the logic in replacing like for like in style.

Just had a look on the Millwall forum. They say appointing Harris will be a seamless transition. Both like to play hoofball, but Harris takes it to another level!!!

After the rollercoaster of the last 3 seasons it seems we are back to square 1 again.
It looks like the club are content with being a mid table Championship side for the forseable future.
I am sure there are fans of many clubs who would bite your hand off for that right now.
Thu Nov 14, 2019 12:15 pm
Why can't our club show some ambition don't listen to the fans at all very disappointed with this
