Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer has said he has had no contact from Cardiff City regarding the vacant manager's post that the club.

WalesOnline understands that Bowyer is one of just three people the Bluebirds are interested in acquiring, along with former Millwall manager Neil Harris and an unknown third candidate.

It is thought Harris is the board's preferred candidate and that now appears to have been confirmed, with Bowyer saying the Welsh capital club are yet to make contact with him.

“I’ve had no contact," he told South London Press.


“I’m in France at the moment. I don’t like coming to this place! I’ve been here twice now, I was also here in the summer when it all kicked off with Roland (Duchatelet, Charlton's owner).

"I’ve come here again and my phone has gone crazy again!”

The Bluebirds parted company with Neil Warnock on Monday evening and have set a target of this week to appoint a new manager.

Bowyer, however, is understood to be in the Champagne region of France at the moment, the same place where contract talks with Duchatelet reportedly broke down in the summer.

It appears, then, he has no imminent plans to be in the Welsh capital any time soon, meaning Harris once again appears to be the most likely candidate.

Does Glen Williams actually know anything that's going on at CCFC?? I mean he claimed Monday morning that Warnock was in no shape or form leaving Cardiff and in fact was discussing transfer plans for January with Dalman only for Warnock and Cardiff to part ways a few hours later, and over the past day or 2 he's said that its between Harris and Bowyer with a possible 3rd candidate only for us to now be told there's not been any contact at all with Lee Bowyer.

well it looks like its going to take longer than they first thought as they've asked Sol to take it on temporary..

See this as a good sign, if it was just Harris it would already be sorted. Maybe Tan wants bellers to have a chat?

they do not though.as long as they are filling columns they don't seem to care what crap they write.. be a good idea if they found someone that actually supports and loves the club to be the club correspondent.. someone whose opinion you might not agree with but who wont just make this shit up..
