His father is a life long city fan. His house in in the Vale. Above all else he will build the club from the bottom up not from the tip down like Warnock Every appointment is a punt, but this one is worth it. And he is miles ahead of the other mentioned candidates.

There was a boost in interest when he came here because he was top draw player, and probably better than anything else we had at the club. Not bound to be the same appointing him as a manager. Unlike in his playing days, he is not a proven top class manager. There were plenty of compliments on here when we signed OGS as manager, particularly as he had been a class player and learnt his trade from one of the best. That turned out to mean nothing. Going to be a gamble whoever is appointed, as the club will never be able to afford or tempt the big name managers to come here, and even some of them would find things different when having to work with limited resources.

how do you know he would build the club from top to bottom....be a good start if he had just turned up and coached the kids without incident....lives local and his dad supports the city ffs..so does mary the papershop.
oh and btw EVERY first team manger concentrates on the FIRST TEAM..
and Warnock has gone on record as saying what he would like happen in the academy.....and it did not happen..
what he asked is something you should not need to because its common practice EVERYWHERE..

It's risky, of course it is, but getting an established manager is no guarantee either.
