Patience is needed?

Wed Nov 13, 2019 10:00 am

Fans need have patience when new manager is employed regardless of who it is! Changing tactics and getting players to buy into managers philosophy takes time and not 4/5 games can be half a season as we all know, biggest indicator will be what happens in January window ? The team as got what's required to succeed especially with couple of additions in right areas in January.... all is not lost this season and wont be this side of January that's for sure....

Yes.. Whoever comes in will need time and patience and must have the backing of us supporters no matter what.
It will take time for the new gaffer's philosophy to be implemented but patience is everything :bluescarf:

good luck with that...half a season ?
we lost 6 of the 12 who played the most last season had a manager that had performed minor miracles and the patience lasted ?

Nah,I think the new manager will need to hit the ground running otherwise knowing our lot he'll be toast by the new year.Don't expect the fans to treat the new guy with the same respect as Warnock got when he first arrived,he was a universal choice by the fans and Harris,Bowyer or whoever will not get as long to put things right.

Sometimes, just sometimes a new manager comes in and hits the ground running so you never know but, I think it will take more than a few games for the new gaffer to turn it around :bluebird:

that's how I see it.. not my 1st choice to be manager { not many peoples reading the board } but I think Bamba out of those mentioned might be given the most lee way..

Prefer him to hit ground running but how many managers get results when 1st come in but then results drop off ... city are a medium to long term job in turning things around due to NW style of play? Maybe pulis will be best as same philosophy but anyone else will need time and fans away from this board will know this ! Whats certain is new guy wont be sacked this season due to results for reasons I mentioned.... :old:

It's a point of view nothing more! whether fans have patience is upto them but people are not stupid and know its going to take time to change mindset of players who are not used to playing football on ground? Hit ground running doesnt mean sfa as could win 4 games running then lose next 6 which has happened on many occasions.. like said patience needed whether get it is another matter ..

OGS is a good example at utd. Started well and looked like he'd turned it around then he couldn't get a win for a while. Time will tell

Precisely why patience is required it's not just a new manager its probably a completely different style football as well? you simply cannot ask players to go from nw football to Barcelona football in 5 games with players we have! We have basis for good side just need tinkering and couple of additions and who knows what could happen after January? :old:

Exactly Allan. OGS is not far off a year into the job at Utd and he is still really struggling for any kind of consistency. We have to be prepared for things to take time here as well

im only pointing out how little patience was given to NW.. i can only imagine those that couldn't stop knocking him did as they wished an improvement on 21 points from 16 games...

I just hope that there is a change in the philosophy and style of play.

Not the best analogy, he is clueless and should be sacked at the first opportunity that a proven Manager becomes available!!!

There is not point wasting time and persevering with the wrong manager, which often happens when a club makes a managerial mistake!

It's easy in hindsight but Brendan Rodgers would have been a far better choice for them!

Thie point is any new manager tends to have two things happen team does very well for 4 or 5 games then results drop or for 4 or 5 games lose most of those games but as players gets to grip with new tactics results improve? Hence title patience and knowing this forum wont be much of that whoever comes in. :old:

The club need to take time and get the right man, then we need patience, if Harris gets it he is on a hiding to nothing our fans won't give him a chance.
