‘ Craig Bellamy ‘

Wed Nov 13, 2019 9:53 am

Craig Bellamy has been mentioned by our board as a potential manager as Tan still thinks a lot of Bells, But the other members have not been backing the suggestion and reminding Tan of recent events.

Don’t write Bells name off just yet.

Bellamy is down on my list of potential candidates but, if it is Bellamy, I for one will get right behind him,as I will for whoever comes in :ayatollah:

Bellamy is exciting for the fact we don’t know what job he will do...Harris and bowyer are boring and uninspiring

Think he may do a decent job. Nice to have someone local as Manager.

Mixed feelings about this but I certainly wouldn't be wholly against Bellamy getting it, particularly if the other choices are as widely reported.

It would be a brave appointment, and risky, but in terms of raising our profile, bringing new/updated ideas, professionalism and an ability to attract players he probably trumps all the other names.

However, there have to be question marks about his man management skills and complete lack of management experience. But then again Lampard, Gerrard and others were in the same boat and they seem to be doing OK, we'll never know until somebody takes that risk

I would prefer Chris Hughton but if it wasn't him then Bellamy and Bowyer are the type of managers I'd be in favour of.

Houghton was on £500k plus a year at Brighton. Not sure we pay that kind of money..

Warnock was on more than that wasn't he ? I seem to remember a figure of £800K being bandied about with a big bonus for promotion or is my mind playing tricks on me ? :old:

Maybe the players need a bit of a rant off someone like Bellamy to kick start the season again.

Re: ‘ Craig Bellamy ‘

I think he at least deserves an interview. If he has indeed shown interest in the role himself.

The board should be exhausting all avenues. Take their time, take advice, speak to past employers, the usual things normal people do when employing someone to an influential role in a business!

Bellamy for me, we need to be brave otherwise it will be more of the same.

Bellamy stating last week that the Club wasn’t giving the youngsters coming thro a chance could really turn Tan’s head.Plus didn’t he interview really well for the Wales job too.
Might have some legs.

Ive said it before he has had issues at every club he's been at including Cardiff City and Wales and people want him to run our club.

As for the poster saying he can come in and fire a rocket up the players I'll assume your not in management in your chosen industry. May work on some of the players but can do the opposite to others abd we see even less from them.

He's a dividing character and not my choice.

If he was appointed he would need a lot of help. Osian or Ray to help out ?
Kompany / Bellamy ?

No one has mentioned what about Jepsom and Blackwell - would one of them fancy a crack at it - or is fresh faces needed all round ?

Managing people is a skill.
Not even Neil Warnock or Mouriniho
Could stop themselves rising above it
On occasion.

Sometimes you need to slap people with a feather
And not a fist.

Sometimes an arm around someone works,
When others need tough lessons.

Understanding your teams psychology
Is key to managing individually and collectively.
Managers must balance being personal
And professional.

I was wondering about that - have they gone as well when Warnock left?

Personally wouldn't mind Blackwell.

Re: ‘ Craig Bellamy ‘

100% for me

He will be a good manager , mistakes will he made along the way. But he will give us so many attributes that have been missing down the City for years now. Marmite like Warnock, but with attacking and creative genes and a deep rooted passion for our city and all things Welsh. It will be scary yet exciting.

Caretaker for the rest of season would be a good way to see how he works. He will do well I think

That's not even £10k a week. The majority of Championship players earn that and more!

If bellamy came in ide quite happily give him until the end of next season to get a real squad capable of going up the following season.

He is passionate about playing young talent, can you inagine the quality young players from the premiership he would try to get here, i bet he would go all out to get the best of the best out there and if a manager or a young player talked to bellamy and here is passion on this matter then i bet he would get the best too..

Couldn't think of a worse appointment

Re: ‘ Craig Bellamy ‘

Wed Nov 13, 2019 1:28 pm

Harris and Bowyer are gambles although both have minor experince Managing at this level.

If we are going to gamble then at least gamble on Craig Bellamy.

He knows the club, from top to bottom and has experience of dealing with Tan, Mehmet and Choo.
He has fresh ideas and a modern playing philosophy.
He'll galvanise the fans from the start.
He's hungry and has a point to prove.

For me the club could do far worse than appoint Craig :bluescarf:

Third serious Cardiff City manager candidate emerges as board reveal their preferred option

Wednesday 13th November 2019

The hunt for a new Bluebirds boss is ongoing and may now go into next week

Neil Harris is the preferred candidate to take over at Cardiff City, despite the emergence of a possible third option.

Tuesday saw two clear front-runners emerge in the form of Harris and Charlton Athletic boss Lee Bowyer, following the departure of Neil Warnock on Monday evening.

Despite falling out of favour with the bookies, Bowyer has not yet been ruled out by the City board, although it is understood Harris is now their preferred choice.

Harris, who enjoyed a brief loan spell with the Bluebirds as a player, is currently without a job after leaving his post at Millwall earlier in the season and has impressed a number of City board members as they look to install a new man before the trip to Charlton on the 23rd.

However, it's understood that a third candidate has emerged in the last few hours.

The identity of this new possibility is not yet known, but sources say he is a name that will be known to Bluebirds fans
