City board - show some imagination

Tue Nov 12, 2019 10:41 pm

No rush, take your time and search high and low. There will be plenty of interest.
Listen to what candidates have to say - a vision, a plan, an identity.
Decide how we want the youth to develop and how we can utilise the undoubted talent already in the squad.
How can we develop as a Club on the pitch? Maybe reach the PL and stay there?
Don’t worry so much about experience as a manager, look for potential, knowledge, hunger and ambition. Someone who understands how the game is developing tactically.

Don’t mess this opportunity up and put the Club back even further by taking the easy option of one of the same names on the managerial money-go-round.

I haven’t seen the CV’s of those who are interested, nor do I pretend to know all the potential out there, either in the UK or further afield. I just want the Club to take their time and explore all options

In amongst a lot of junk on this board at the moment you have summed up how I feel mate.

There is no rush, they should set up a panel, do the due dilegence on the candidates and take it from there, Dalmans comments of someone in by the weekend worries me. They need to take their time and get the right man.

bothers me too, along with seemingly not even looking at managers already in employment other than lower leagues or short contracts where the compo will be minimal

The best approach is surely to assess candidates track records. I agree that the process should not be rushed. An extra weeks training or even one match is not as important as making the right choice

I am hopeful that if our Club say they will announce the appointment of our new Manager by this weekend that the process to find Warnock's successor started a long time back and also that N. W. was involved in the process. :bluescarf:
