Dalman on talksport

Tue Nov 12, 2019 10:15 am

Didn't say much that isn't already on here. Key points.

"We're almost there" in regards to the next man.

Warnock absolutely not involved in finding replacement.

No idea if Warnock is retiring.

Cheap option on the way, Harris a failed Millwall manager. No ambition from the club.

Please enlighten us as to who isn’t a cheap option that would show ambition.

Its same reply to any manager mentioned sorry to say pep wouldn't satisfy our fans judging by comments on every name mentioned so far! Maybe Dalman throws a curve ball that surprises everyone? :laughing6:

Houghton would want money to spend on players and challenge for promotion, so would Darren Moore. Harris out if work cost nothing, Bowyer is working on a week to week contract so again cost nothing.

I'd rather Nigel Atkins until the end of the season.

Reading these boards it is apparent that the owner in not interested in the slightest. He’s next to go.

Please please Bowyer for the next manager. :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Compared to some of the others that are apparently in the running, I tend to agree.

Think Bowyer would be a better choice than Harris. He got Charlton to the playoffs two seasons ago, automatic promotion last season and they are doing much better than expected this season. All that with a massively unpopular Belgian owner and having to sell their best players. It's a better record than Harris. There are better managers out there but not necessarily in our price range or who would come to us.

Ive only seen little of Charlton but I like the way they get the ball forward quickly as well.

Jim White later said Talksport have heard it's Neil Harris.

If it's Harris I don't believe Warnock didn't have an input.

Dalman out.

Fingers crossed Hughton or Bowyer win him over !

The best owner this club has ever had even with the rebrand mistake

same here.
their form under him was worse than our form under Warnock.
he has left and now their form is better than ours..
its what we want but in reverse.
be better off pinching Rowett off Millwall.

Hate to say it but the Jacks make much more imaginative appointments and more often than not reap the rewards.
We don’t have football people running the club.

I still want to know who’s doing the interviewing and what football knowledge they possess.

Warnocks appointment didn’t take much football knowledge as he was obviously the right man at the right time for our relegation battle.

Now it needs a lot more thought and football advice.

Dalman brought us OGS and Slade and Trollop.

I will find it hard to accept Dalman has not used Warnock as a sounding board.

Think there's something going on in the background here as if it's Harris why the " we're nearly there " comments?

Think they are waiting on someone else to give them the nod, if not Harris will get it.

Jules thats the impression you get reading between the lines on some of the threads? One minute Harris is preferred but then theres a late comer to the party! Think they'd like someone other than Harris but will take him if they get turned down from real target.. :old:

...Particularly as there seems to be a third serious candidate according to another thread. I have a feeling it'll be Bellamy that we'll have.

They’ve got money for a few, one thing Jenkins knew was a decent manager.....

Yep, for me I'd much rather them appoint a director of football, with vast footballing knowledge and let them conduct the managerial search. D.O.F before a manager any day.

yes he did
but he had nothing to do with appointing Cooper...
was between Cooper and a Cardiff born son of a Cardiff City legend apparently

you are correct ,but had we appointed a D.O.F .who then recommended Harris, same reaction...

was flat out unimpressed but the more I look at others mentioned the more ive warmed to the idea..
