"It was a warrior-like performance”

Sun Nov 10, 2019 6:33 pm

Bristol City manager Lee Johnson said:

"It was a warrior-like performance. When you play Cardiff they cause you problems by pinning you in. They have quality but they can mix it in terms of direct play and good football.

"That was a proper away performance - people putting their bodies on the line and competing for every challenge.

"The match lack a bit of quality but the absolutely unbelievable moment of quality was Josh Brownhill's strike.

"I could see when I first took him to Barnsley on loan that he was a superstar in the making. He has to go down as one of the value signings in Bristol City's history."

Their defenders put in some brilliant blocks, shame none of ours did the same when they scored their goal

I didn't think they showed anymore passion than us, Infact I thought they were the lessor team.

There long range effort went in both ours hit the bar, small margins that make a big difference.

I don't think his warrior like performance comment is a slight on us. the opposite...you don't have to put one of those performances in against a going through the motions team .
yes small margins.

Fair play to Bristol they played us at our own game and came out on top, a draw would have been an acceptable result for both teams. I question they wisdom of playing three ex-robins players in this derby, they must have been tense before the match
