I'm not able to go to games in person due to not living in Cardiff anymore but I have watched every game online.
What I find astonishing is the amount of aimless high balls we play. The year we went up we were very direct, but we were finding wingers and creating a lot of chances. This season it seems to be either a game of head tennis or long hopeless punts up field.
What amazes is me is that Glatzel always looks more comfortable when he has the ball at his feet, as do our wingers and back up strikers. The times we have played the ball along the ground we have looked a lot better. Despite this, we still aim for that hopeless long ball.
I like Whyte, he works a lot and has great acceleration but his end product needs a lot of working on. I'd really like to see our starting wide players being two of Murphy, Hoilett and Mendez Laing, with Whyte as a late option when needed.
I can accept brands of hoofball when it works but when its so aimless and hopeless as it has been at times this season, I don't think anyone should have to stomach it. Hopefully we will see some more dynamic, passing play in the coming weeks.
