Election 'Polls'

Thu Nov 07, 2019 8:32 pm

Was bored in work earlier and Jim White is not for me so flicked over to Talk Radio and they had some woman who is the chairlady of the Lib Dems I believe who claimed that all the 'Polls' suggest that if there was another referendum was carried out tomorow remain would win by 52/48 but Mike Graham claimed that other Polls suggest its the other way.

Now I read that according to 'Polls' Boris Johnson lead has dropped but still double figures, my question is where do these 'polls' come from? Has anyone ever contributed to one? I know I havnt, or asked to be one, are thet just made up by whichever side to boost their own agendas or what and manipulated to suit each sides agenda?

On a side note Warnock was on Talksport earlier, said he had a letter from the Referee/association after the WBA game apologising for decisions on the game

WBA apology is probably for goal being disallowed for offside by a player not active? As for polls in truth it depends what area they were asked in cons or labour ect and the question put to pollsters? Oh and the amount of people asked polls like lot of figures can be manipulated to suit agendas ...
And forgot there is certain% of error in result

The polls are generally conducted online.

The reason they tend not to be reliable is because you can hand pick your demographic. For example; if a poll was led by The Guardian you are likely to see higher Remain trends and if it was held by the Daily Mail you might see more trends of Leave.

Lots of the sources used come from left leaning websites, where the demographic taking part are more likely to vote Remain. Polls are helpful to a certain extent but you can easily manipulate them to get the outcome you are looking for.
